So most answered something to the effect of having to repent on my last question. Fair enough.
Now my question then is those who existed, before the dawn of christ and sinned and then repented. Were they not forgiven?
If Yes, then how is your situation any different from them, being that Jesus died for your sins.
If No, are we to believe everyone went to hell. since everyone is a sinner.

"Yes they were forgiven. There were sacrifices back then. Jesus was our sacrifice so we are now under grace and don't need animal sacrifice any more"
So you are tellling me all Jesus did was save you a few bucks in sacrificing a cow or what have you. No offense that doesn't say much for his sacrifice.

Noone gets forgiven, because there is no need to be forgiven. That is just the essence of a religious business that thrives on the gullible.

Speaking for the Jews of the time, they were living under the Law and thus were judged according to the Law. If they were obedient to the Law, meaning offering the proper sacrifices, following the rules for clean and unclean things, etc.., then their sins were atoned for, or covered up, through the sacrificial blood of the animal sacrifices offered to God. There was no true forgiveness of sin until Jesus Christ. The sins of the Jews was covered until Jesus died, and then those sins were removed.

Those who faithfully observed the Jewish law, or whatever guidance was available at the time they lived, according to God's grace, were judged by Jesus Christ once heaven had been opened, due to his perfect sacrifice.
We don't know what the precise criteria were, but it was probably based on faith, and adherence to the God-inspired principles of the natural law.
God is a just judge, and is not likely to condemn for no good reason.

You ask questions that can not be adiquatly answere here. If you are genuine in seeking understanding of God and His call to all to return to Him... then you may email me for honest answers to honest questions concerning the basics of The Christian Faith...
The Way to God has always been through Jesus... The sacrifices the faithful preformed were to delay the judgment of the sins and give those of that time an oportunity to show genuine repentence. Those who were faithful to what God proscribed for them and were genuine in their repentence went to a place called paradise. Where they waited untill The Time Jesus would come for them and release them to go to heaven with Him. That time was durning that time between his mortal death on The Cross and his return to be with his followers on the sunday morning he returned to earth.

Those people who died before Jesus came and was crucified await the return of Jesus in the bosom of Abraham. No, they have not been forgotten.

The only difference between us and them is we have the Holy Spirit to help to us and we have the Gospel! (good news)
It is my feeling, along with theologians before me, that people born before Christ will still have the ability to submit to Christ and use their lives here on earth as a testimony of their faith in him.

Brenda is quite correct.
Forgiveness is just another product the church wants you to buy with your tithe. Nothing more.
It makes the gullible and stupid think they're actually going to go to some sort of magical "candy land" after they die.
Pathetic.
