What were they before the Americans entered the Korean war (1950-1953)?

"Confucian tradition has dominated Korean thought, along with contributions by Buddhism, Taoism, and Korean Shamanism. Since the middle of the 20th century, however, Christianity has competed with Buddhism in South Korea, while religion has been suppressed in North Korea.

According to 2003 statistics compiled by the South Korean government, about 46% of citizens profess to follow no particular religion. Christians account for 27.3% of the population and Buddhists 25.3%."

Because south 'Koreans' sold out to western 'religions' that have no place in Korea. Korea has always been a Buddhist and shamanistic country but these Christian subhuman filth come over and destroyed that. Thanks in part to the puppet 'government' of south 'Korea'.

Christians are the scum of the earth wherever those human rats go genocide and persecution follows. The crusades, the inquisition, the burning of library of Alexandria and now the persecution of enlightened religions in Korea. The Koreans should purge the country of these Christian filth and send them back to 'god' they follow.

that is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard.. pissed me off when i saw this ''every other Asian country is majority Buddhist'' first of all communist Chinese don't really believe in Buddhism their government won't allow that to happen. China itself is kinda the majority considering it the most populated country in the world. And secondly i have many Japanese friends non of them are Buddhist, japan's capitalism kinda contradicts the fact they Buddhist PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT! Don't take this offensively like i did when i saw your question, and don't be afraid to ask.
