I think we're going to be putting her down soon. I don't really want to but she throws up all her food and is really skinny even though we have her eating high nutrion soft puppy food three times a day.

Is this a pup? Megaesophagus can be something a dog can live with depending on the severity of it. Try feeding her small amounts more often than 3 times a day. Also, you can put her on a milk replacer as well with extra calories. Dyne is also a good choice to add extra calories to dogs with Mega. Congenital Mega is normally seen with several affected pups in a litter from it. Not always, but most of the time you see more than one in the litter. Did you get her from a breeder? She is definately a replacement if you did. A lot of people with older pups that have mega, try feeding in an elevated bowl with large rocks or obstacles in the bowl so that the dog does not gulp down their food. This way, they are eating at a slower pace. I fully understand about wanting to put her down. If you can try to get through this initially, you might just find what works best in her feeding. I myself have put down a pup with persistant right forth aortic arch. It is where the esophagus is very dialated all the way down to below the heart where there is an extra arch of the aorta that is causing a tight stricture causing no food to pass at all. This is a condition requiring surgery. Have you had a barium x-ray done on this girl to make a definate diagnosis?

I know someone that had a dog with megaesophagus. Itt was bad. The dog threw up all the time and it was a nightmare.
I hope your dog has a better outcome, but it doesn't sound good.
