“Going to church, singing, learning in seminary, praying, etc. None of these make you a Christian. Only when you truly believe that Jesus is sovereign Lord with all your heart, that's when you become a christian. Playing church doesn't do squat. That might be why you turned.”
And
“There is the testimony of the Holy Spirit within you. If you've left, you were never really part of us. This means you are just as eligible for being regenerate as someone who has never heard of Jesus.”
How do these people know that they are *true* Christians?
They might have a profound experience that will redirect their faith

We're going in circles.
Twenty-five years ago I would have been saying the same things as you. "A true Christian would never leave Christianity"
Seems to me there is no way to really know. So......
"Be afraid, be very afraid!" ;-)

of course you do not understand... because you were never of The Faith... this is not ment as an insult or put down... you yourself state you do not understand... I was not of The Faith for 53 yrs... one morning I got up at 5am not beleiving any of the Bible thumping stuff... by 9 I was one.... In the instant of my Salvation I knew I was Saved and that is was a done deal and that my Salvation was mine forever...
I can tell you for certain that one of The True Christian Faith will never "...have a profound experience that will redirect their faith"
I can not, nore can any of TheFaith, give you the full explination that you seek. That only comes directly from God. I do invite you to read my testimony of my first day of The Christian Faith. It is the best I personaly have to offer. and, in truth all any of The Faith can offer... our own personal testimony... God must do the rest.

What makes you a Christian is your hope, faith and following Jesus.
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. -Galatians 5:16

"His sheep know His voice and He knows them. A stranger's voice they will not follow."
If you are His disciple, you will know it. You will hear His voice, and He will speak with you. You will know the difference between His voice and the stranger.
Evidently, you did not know His voice...or, if you did, you chose to ignore it...you have followed the voice of a stranger. It is hard for me to believe that you would do that, if you had truly heard His voice, in the first place.
But, if you were, truly, a "committed Christian", you know that Jesus is not leaving you alone. He is still seeking for His lost one.
If you still hear His voice calling you, let me urge you, please, come home. It is not too late!!

To: Bringiton; Have use observed the "new child abuse" became executed on the Hebrew? look on the time of Moses, and then rapid forward to Christ being born. (examine it in the previous you talk of it.) Now, all i'm able to assert is that God supplies all and sundry opportunities. Now no count if we take them is yet another tale. Noah is an exciting element; right here, Noah is going in to the Ark for 7 days. He does not close it. God does after the seven day is up. Now in those very days(The seven), human beings knew what became going to take place (IE The flood.) yet nonetheless did no longer substitute their "wicked approaches" of that element. yet whether one became to have approached Noah, and mentioned he believed incredibly in what he mentioned, Noah might have maximum invited him a place contained in the Ark. God waited seven days in the previous he close them in. Seven. asserting that perchance he had was hoping greater human beings might have taken heed to his warning. So all in all the vast Sky Daddy does supply us alternatives, and we do could desire to start making the perfect ones.

Actually it's nothing you do. It's what God does to you, coming inside you and making you a new person. "You must be born again," Jesus said.
