You can do several things.

1) Interrupt and say "I apologize but I have to get xyz done by noon. I'll stop by later."

2) Stop making eye contact, pick up a stack of papers, and just keep fumbling through them as the person talks. Hopefully they'll get the hint.

3) Stand up and either "show" them to the door (office) or stand at the doorway of your cubicle, keep looking down at your watch and then say "I'm expecting blah-blah (your boss) any minute to go over xyz with me."

4) Last but not least, tell them that you've had some complaints about YOU (not them) socializing too much during working hours. You hear the boss has it out for anybody not working and you don't want to get THEM in trouble. You heard they were watching you. (this should really scare them!)

Good luck - let me know how it goes!

Your coworkers comments probably come from a pretend experience of attempting to assist. they could imagine they're providing sturdy suggestion on your health yet going about it the incorrect way. some each body is basically skinny. except a clinical specialist tells you it truly is nice to attain weight than you shouldn't hassle. those comments are irrelevant yet shrouded in sturdy intentions possibly so in case you may communicate that it offends you in a cutting-edge way then that could be proper.

Just tell him you need to make a really important phone call before you forget about it. Of course that will only work a few times before he catches on.

If permitted where you work, start using a radio head-set, regardless if you're listening to anything or not. You can then tune him out by pretense or by reality.

You could try to make yourself seem really boring so he'll find somebody else to talk to.

Be straightforward and tell him that you are not trying to be rude but you're busy with work. Don't cater to his emotions.
