While many folks here criticized the website that says Islam has Hindu roots, we should all know that Hindu is of Indian Origin and began over two thousand years before Jesus and Mohammad.
While it's true that Christianity, Judaism and Islam worship one God, before Mohammad, the Arab people had multiple Gods which may well have come from India/Hindu occupation. 'Allah' of Islam definately has Hindu roots...known by the Jews and Christians before Islam.
Try as we may, we can't run away from the truth that religion has straight connections with paganism and all that came before.
Hindu may well be the Mother of all religions.
Thanks for the website.

Don't forget that Christianity is derived from Judaism and holds true all the basics tenants of the ancient Bible which originated more than 3000 years ago. There is however a certain harmony between Hinduism and Christianity. For the most part
no strong antagonisms exist between them. The respect for Life for example is similar in both belief systems. Gandhi exploited this perceptive insight and bent the will of the English to arrive at a more just and equitable condition. He understood the Christian moral code and thus attained peace without violence. He may not have been as successful say fighting Saddam Hussein or Hitler. He may have wound up exterminated.

I cannot go on telling the absurdity of your statement. Just because a religion was founded earlier than others does not make it the Mother of all others.

'ILAHA' is an Arabic word used for god. Even Arab considered 'AL-ILAHA' - The God (Which shortened to Allah) the sole Creator .
If you study the history, you'll come to know that polytheism creeps into religions. Jews worshiping Cow at some time, trinity and even in some Muslim societies illiterate people associate themselves too much with graves of pious people and invoke them for help (Clearly polytheistic nature)

I don't think that your (subjective) conclusion is plausible.

Now this is a very interesting topic.
I don't think its correct to say that the three monotheist religions spring from paganism; however there are connections.

Before Abraham, 'earthman' was always searching for a super being and because they couldn't find him in the flesh, they made Idols to represent him...we may call this group 'Pagan'. Abraham made contact with god and tried to get rid of the pagan custom. Jesus confirmed the one true God and Mohammad wrapped up everything in one neat package.
While Judaism, Christianity and Islam condemned the worship of Idols, it was difficult to break from old traditions; Moses had a hard time with some of the Israelites in the desert who still believed in their Idols. In the New Testament, we see Paul and other followers of Jesus warning the new christians against Idol worship. It was no different with Mohammad's new faith. Mohammad stressed that there was to be 'No God but God.' remember idol worship was very common in all Arabia before Mohammad.
So we see, while the monotheists condemn pagan traditonal worshipped, there are pagan customs that did seep into monotheist faiths. Old traditions are not easy to break.

The Hindu culture was active before 2000 BC and was deeply rooted in India. Historians think that pre-Historic Indian kings did conquer and rule what we today call Arabia...and surroundings and even today, we can see glimpses of a hindu tradition. Muslims may be mad with me(I myself being Muslim) but 'Allah' may well be adopted from Hindu. The old Kabba contained very many idols and 'Allah' was one of them; of course, 'Allah' was the name of a pagan God...not originally Arabic. The prophet Mohammad was not only a great warrior but a very shrud politician; By choosing 'Allah' as the one true God, he was also keeping in step with Arabic tradition...like the christians who adopted christmas from a Roman God; of course, the 'New' Allah was not a pagan diety, just like the new Christmas became Christian.
I know it's difficult for many religious folks to accept the truth but as one of the posters here said, it's very difficult to extract the old traditional pagan element from any religion. The Muslims will always have their Kabba, the christians will always have their Christmas and the Jews will always have their Golden calf.

Every tribe on earth, every budding philosopher on earth has wondered if their soul is the only and greatest in the cosmos. Some egotistical , narcissistic individuals even in the present answer that question with a yes. Those who have not and have wanted to know and seek God have sometimes been rewarded.
The ancient Hebrews where the chosen ones to write down these Oracles of God. Christians have inherited this bounty of spiritual knowledge and adapted it. Mohamed for political reasons, material and ego conquest tried fabricating his own precepts, copying some of the Jude/Christian precepts . I don't know enough about Hinduism but to say that judging by the respect for life they demonstrate, it earns my own respect.

Ultimately everything comes from the Ultimate which is the only true God. That includes the good and the free will to choose the bad and the worse(Islam and the murderous brainwashing of the false prophet Mohamed.
