and how long do they last anyway if i use it every day? my hair is kinda thick and wavy nothing too bad but i love it when its strait and smooth. right now i just have a conair one but i want to upgrade...which one should i get and why?

I think that the chi works the best, i use it myself and i love it!! And others who use them have told me great things as well :)
You should definetly get a chi straightener!! I just straightened my hair it is so silky and smooth right now =). You will feel great and look great wiht the chi

I have used and heard great things about the Chi straightener...If you don't want to spend that kinda $$$ I have picked up great revlon straightner for around 20!

I swear by Chi and they last for a long time as long as you don't abuse them. Remember to turn them off when your done, keep them clean and don't drop them.
I have 2 of them, one for work, and one for home. I love 'em!!

Get the Solano Sapphire. It's the best iron and worth the money!
I have curly, fine hair and it is gentle yet super effective.

Chi !! Majority of hair dressers use it. I have one and it works wonders without damaging my hair

the Chi, imo. i've used it several times and love it. it leaves your hair smooth and shiny.
