If you are breastfeeding it could be normal. Sometimes you won't get your period until your baby is done nursing. However, this is not always the case. You could be pregnant again. Go to your doctor. It is very easy for a woman who just had a baby to get pregnant again right away. This is especially true in the first 6 weeks after childbirth. That is why doctors tell you not to have sex for 6 weeks after baby is born. A womans body needs some time to recuperate between pregnancies. It is ultimately the healthiest option for you to wait 2 years before getting pregnant again. This way your body has had plenty of time to heal itself and rebuild reserved vitamins and minerals. But go to your doctor ASAP and ask for a pregnancy test.

I breastfed my son exclusively for 5 months and 1-2x/day until 6 months. He turns 7 months tomorrow and I still haven't received my period. What I've read is that it should return within 3-6 months after you stop breastfeeding. It's frustrating not having the monthly reassurance that you're not pregnant! If you think you could be pregnant, take a test... Otherwise, just mark on the calendar for 6 months. After then, I'd call/go to the gyn.

If you are breast feeding, yes, that can be completely normal. If you are on birth control of some sort, that is also possible. If you aren't breast feeding, and you aren't on a contraceptive that can reduce or eliminate your period, you may want to call you doctor and set up an appointment to make sure everything is fine and that you aren't possible pregnant already. We are 10x more fertile for the first year after childbirth than any other time.

Are you breastfeeding? Some women don't get a period the entire time they are nursing!
For me, it took until 10 mos PP with my first, 9.5 mos PP with my second and around 16 mos PP with my third before my period returned. I nursed exclusively for 6 mos and then added solids and continued nursing well beyond a year with each child.

Especially if you are breast feeding, it can release hormones that inhibit the period. But doctors warn not to count on breast feeding as a primary form of birthcontrol

If you're breastfeeding, it's totally normal. If you're not, and it's been more than 3 months since you stopped, you need to see your doctor. You could also be pregnant!

Sometimes, breastfeeding does that. Is it possible that you might be pregnant again? I would give your gyno a call/visit.

I know if you are breastfeeding that it could mess with your cycles. What did your Dr say about this?
