Paying a charged off account without "first" requesting that they delete the tradeline will do nothing for your credit.

A paid negative is just as bad as an unpaid negative.

I would suggest going to the site I've listed and do some reading. Start in the newbie forum and then in the credit forum.

Read about debt validation, statute of limitations, pay for delete, how to deal with the credit bureaus, what letters to send etc etc.

The site is a do it yourself credit repair site. Everything on there is free to read and use.

Merely paying it in full will have no effect one way or another as long as payments were on time.
Better to make payments a few days ahead of due date and add additional amount. You can spread those over a few months and save on interest. A few larger payments will increase your credit rating.

a paid charge off is no better than an unpaid charge off when it comes to credit score. if you are paying a charge off, you need to pay for deletion.
