Strictly speaking from the Bible, noone has the power to judge another, despite what some other people have been tossing out here. Therefore, noone has the knowledge of who is going to heaven or hell. "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Think about it. God gave us the power to cut away our brothers and sisters that are keeping us from growing in Him, but He did not allow us to deem the worthiness of their person. In fact, WE are not worthy enough to judge: "can it be that there is no man among you wise enough to decide between members of the brotherhood?.."1 Cor 6:5
Also, remember Romans 8:31- "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Despite how people judge (or try to), they have no power over us. Have faith and do works for Him, and nothing can keep you down.
We keep forgetting the message that Paul strove so hard to get out in Galatians 5:13 "For [we] were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity of the flesh, but through LOVE be servants of one another." We are called to love, not to judge.
And if you have faith, surely you will be saved. But not by faith alone. "Faith alone" is a rediculous argument. I love the people who confide in saying that if they are saved, they are home free. Hell, the only verse in the bible that even says "faith alone" is in James 2:24 "You see that a person is justified by what he does and NOT by faith alone." Hah.
To put it simply- we're all going to hell. That is, unless we have faith, do good works in His name, and seek first the kingdom. Noone can judge but God, but we do need to judge ourselves and our behaviors.

You ask a very good question, but biblically it states "judge not lest ye be judged". We are not to know what is in someone else's heart and mind. We are also to try to bring all to Christ through prayer and any other means available. We are not to judge anyone else because it is written that by their actions you shall know them. If our heart is in the right place and we are acting as God would have us act, no matter how unpopular, then no more will be asked and no more can be done. I would encourage you to get a good study Bible and increase your understanding and knowledge of the Bible. You will find it a very interesting collection books. God bless you in your quest and search for the truth.

God is merciful and forgiving. He is also just. God can make those work together in ways we humans don't always understand. Know also that God does not overlook sins. He can't. Think of a human judge who knew a violent criminal was guilty of rape and murder, and let the criminal go free because he felt sorry for him. Would this be a good judge? No, of course not. To God, all sin is sin. It's all bad. There are no 'light sins' that He can tolerate or excuse. There just aren't. In His Book, even thinking about some of these things makes you guilty. Jesus said so. Basically, all humans are guilty and fall short of God's glory. No one gets to Heaven by being good. Sorry, it just can't be done. The only way to be found blameless is to trust In Jesus' saving work on the cross and repent and ask God's forgiveness for your sins.
You can't know who has repented and trusted Jesus and asked for and received His forgiveness unless you ask people. If you have someone you're concerned about, pray for that individual. Also, pray that God will show you the right time to ask your question of that person.

They don't. The truth is that no one can possibly know what lies beyond death...if anything. Everything I've ever heard describing an afterlife has been speculative wishful thinking. If wishing would make it so, I'd wish for a heaven filled with Playboy Playmates... ;)
The way the Biblegod's system is set up, no one with a reasonable mind could call him good, just or loving...yet they do. In my eyes, it is a demand for ego-stroking in exchange for forgivness for the crime of being born mortal and human.
As for judging a tree by its fruit: Considering the rampant superstition, anti-intellectualism, and corruption I'd say that the Abrahamic faiths don't do too well by their own standards.

No human knows who is going to Heaven or Hell........
You are absolutely correct, there is only ONE merciful forgiving judge in Heaven, that knows the heart & soul of each person.
No man can judge another. Judging is God's job & God's alone...~Prophetess

Its not up to us to know who is going to heaven or Hell. and its wrong for us to judge others in terms of going to heaven or Hell. Only God can judge this way- God looks at the heart but man looks at the outward appearance. What we show to everyone isnt always what we really are. We are called to love everyone the same- whether or not its in direct relationship or just by praying for them. If you really want to know someones beliefs get to know them for a bit and try to build a relationship with them. If they have truly repented then the light of Christ will be shining through them and the Christ within you yourself will let you know their true hearts. Its knowledge given you by the Holy Spirit and you yourself cannot fully know the information to your question. Scripture reference see Luke 6:32-37. If you want to know more feel free to email me.

We don't know, though we like to pretend we do. Only God knows. He didn't give us the job of judge because we're not qualified, so we need to stop pretending its our job. If it comes to the point where for some reason God thinks we need to know where other people will go, maybe He'll put a little sticker on us or something, but I kinda think we should worry more about our own souls than run around trying to do Jesus' job for Him.

Why doesn't the omnipotent one make Heaven and Hell the same place?
If you say Hell is just far from present of God, then isn't God supposedly omniscience, omnipresent and Infinite? I.e. we can't get away even if we were to hide?
So are you saying that we could hide from God's might if we simply chose to turn away?
All these contradictions...

We can't judge who is going to hell or not. I have accepted Jesus as my saviour and the Bible promises that "if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". And there are many other places that basically say the same thing. If a person doesn't accept Christ in their life, then I would say it's a pretty safe bet to think they are in hell. But that's between them and God.

We don;t know period.
We don't even know if heaven/hell exist. We may just die and be gone.
As for the bible. It was written by man. You have to question what was added through the ages - even before it was written down the forst time.
That's why I flush the holy books at http://flushaholybook.com
