so far 8 liberals responding (not counting the nonlibs) and not one of them has quoted a lie. Just more typical name calling.

scooby,, are you sure he wasn't quoting Hillary Clinton when he said that?
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
Al Qaeda was based out of Iraq. It is known that Saddam and Osama have met. It is not known what they talked about. If you want to be a naive liberal, and think that they were exchanging recipes for cakes, then go ahead. But they did have links.

g are you sure he wasn't quoting this letter:
"There is no doubt that . Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001.
Why do you think saddam was not allowing the weapons inspectors, which he agreed to, into certain places?
--
also, this was said before he was in office, and after clinton bombed iraq:
"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999.

silva, your entire statement was a hypocracy. You said that since hezbeollah was elected by one country, they should be allowed to destroy anothers? So, since Bush was elected, why can't he destroy hezbollah (your theory)?
Just because hezbollah was elected, does not mean they can destroy the democracy of another nation. Furthermore, Bush is not trying to stop them from being in the country where they are elected. Bush just said, since they are bent on destroying others, they no longer get money and other aid from the US.

As for the wiretaps, every president since WWII has done the same thing in a time of war. So, yes, you are a hypocrite.

teheba, it was congress who disbanned the cia dept that was searching for Osama, and it was congress who just re-established it. Where is the lie?

so, its nice to see some of you get your news from a comedy show. Shows the mentatlity of who the liberals are. Do you also read Mad Magazine to catch up on other current events? I like the Daily show also, but it is not a real news show, its a joke! You can put clips together all day, like michael moore, it does not mean the conclusion you draw from them is true.

You cannot prove I am a hypocrite. I will refer you to the supreme court findings that the wiretaps are illegal. Bush says they are legal. He constantly lies to the American people. His agenda says he is for spreading democracy in the middle east, yet he is against Hezbollah who are in fact a democratically elected part of the Palestine government.. He says he is fighting terrorism.. he is creating more terrorist every day. Perhaps you would be interested in reading some of the less biased news sources, the Guardian (formerly the Manchester Guardian) The Christian Science Monitor, and the Utne Reader.
Pretty much the rest of the world sees Bush as a liar and war criminal. Now our own Supreme Court has ruled he has violated over 800 US laws... he does not plan on stopping these violations of law.. which makes him a criminal even if you believe he does not lie.

As a free thinker from another country... I get to watch "The Daily Show", with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central. All you need to do is watch recapped news clips of President Bush & George does it to himself showing you he's lied or stretched the truth plenty of times. I find it hillarious to see it from the horses mouth, but really it's very serious that you haven't got a more intelligent President to represent you, cause you deserve better... even if that person is a Conservative like John McCain (who I think would make a GREAT president. I don't care which party rules, just as long as they're intelligent & aren't always covering their tracks when caught in a lie. I wish I could quote all the lies Politicians make, but there's too many !

Sadam has links to Al Queda...
Where did Hillary get her Information???...Bush maybe...??? The arguement that the "liberal had the same information" is a farse. They had the information the Bush Administration allowed them to have.
Also, appearently you do not watch the news much. The Senate committee on war in Iraq release the report today saying there was absolutely not ties to terrorist in Iraq because Sadamm was afraid he would lose control of his country.
Also, Sadamm and Rumsfield have met. What do you think they were doing. Oh yeah...thats right...exchanging antrhax to fight Iran....

all you have to do is type in "bush lies" and you'll get some good and some bad examples. if you are a person who can expect reasonable accounability from your politicians, you need to pay attention, if you don't care to question authority and believe them at face value, you are a fool. I don't mean to say Democrats are angels, as a Democrat, I question them as well, I just ignore the prejudicial attacks on them. If you are a good Republican, i would expect you to support your party, but at least not let bad judgement or selfish behavior by your leaders stand without at least an honest appraisal and judge them as being bad leaders. I can accept that you would support your ethics and values as a Republican as well as respect me for believing in mine...there can be a legitimate difference of opinion on what either of us finds proper...we can be raised with the same values and still disagree on what the answers are. the 2 party system is our way of keeping an honest government.
I have a history of voting for an occasional Republican, but with the complete control being enjoyed by Republican at this time, I hope that more moderate people can see that our system is out of whack. If the shoe was on the other foot, I would not automatically vote Democrat, I would be stupid if I did, if the Democrats held as much power as the Republicans do now, I would fear that our system was just as screwed up...I would at least vote the man, not the party.

He said Iraq was the cause of 9/11. It wasn't.
The people who make him speak are the ones that lie more... Rummy, Cheney, All of 'em...
I love that it takes a show like the Daily Show to prove that they lie. Not even "The Liberal Media" covered that...

he said that Saddam has manufactured WMD in Iraq post gulf-war? (that's not the ones that were there pre-gulf war)
I haven't seen any proof of that and in fact, most seem to believe that he was wrong... now was it an intentional lie... I'm not sure... but you didn't say intentional...
and just making a false statement wouldn't make you a hypocrite... it would just make you wrong...
SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS... AS LONG AS THE DEMOCRATS LIE IT'S RIGHT FOR THE REPUBLICANS TO DO IT TOO? so you have a "he hit me first" attitude... well, I'm not surprised...

- the Iraqi war will pay for itself with Iraqi oil
- '... we don't participate in torture..'
Rendition that came out later where we don't do it ourselves but send prisoners to Egypt to be tortured for us then they give us the information.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/torture/view/
- '...any known leaks will be prosecuted..'
Rove has admitted to declassifying documents in order to leak Plumes name.
- '... Iran wants to develop nuclear weapons..'
Iran has stated repeatedly it is a member of the NPT and will comply with inspector rules so that it can enrich uranium for ENERGY purposes. Bush is spinning the words to motivate fear.
- '.. Al Qaeda is in Iraq..'
911 Commission report states otherwise. There were NO Al Qaeda in Iraq before we invaded and no association between Saddam and them.
There is more but those are off the top of my head.
Now, if you are a typical republican you might try to invalidate my Frontline source. FYI, Frontline is the most credible news agency in the world and almost every years wins the truth in journalism award.
If you are serious and really do want the truth, I would advise watching those two shows I gave you by Frontline. You will learn an enormous amount of information that obviously you don't know.
