Christians believe the devil is smart and cunning. His biggest trick is making 'us' believe he does not exist - an yet his evil rules much of the world. This got me wondering what I would do if I were a devil..

I think I'd have most fun in turning christians, somehow making them so fanatic they see faith as fact and feel a need to destroy all else. I'd think the devil would be fairly happy these days now that religions are gearing themselves for war.

Do you think I'm influenced by the devil to then question war, violence, hatred and religion at the root? Or is there a chance fanatical religious people Jesus' arch enemy?

Malak, I'm a writer.. The word is a communication tool, nothing more. I've not rejected anything, I think possibilities are endless, but you're correct if you think I can't get through to a closed mind. Ask yours what it is protecting you from though.

Phew! (thankyou!)

I doubt very much that the Devil could influence you, being inside the heads of others not worthy of your worry or attention. It is a sad fact that it's likely that your well formulated question will fail to reach the parts needed for intellectual revolution because those parts no longer exist in the mainstream christian mindset. It was worth a try though!...

The devil must have been thrilled this whole time here on earth. It's not just now, but throughout history difference in religion has caused war after war, after war.

the worst thing about religion is that religion itself teaches intolerance. That if you don't believe in it then bad things are going to happen to you, especially in the afterlife. Christians are writing to atheists in yahoo answers that they will burn in hell and when they do they will be like,"told you so". This is very intolerant of others beliefs if you ask me.

EDITED: Thank you romantic dreamer for proving my case, maybe someday you will respect those with beliefs besides your own, but more likely you will become more set in your ways and be less tolerant of those who have different beliefs

As a writer myself I know the problem with the written word. What means one thing to the writer can mean another to the reader. Malak, check this guys words more carefully. I don't think you'll find he is baiting anyone. This is a legitimate question here.

The point being that there are a lot of religions in the world all fighting and snapping and tearing at each other. This is not of God. Most of these religions follow the teachings of the scriptures. The SAME scriptures written into different books. The Jewish Torah, The Quran, The Bible, all are based on these same scriptures to one degree or another.

God is not into war and killing. He is into love and healing. The devil is the one that is into killing. He is the theif who comes only to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10 KJV Bible).

Clishmaclaiverin your point is well taken and well made. I think if I was working for the devil I would do exactly as you describe. And I can tell you that that is exactly what is happening too. The Bible speaks of 'wolves in sheeps clothing' who infiltrate and stir up evil. They cause divisions and strife. They start gossip mongering and finger pointing. They destroy churches and cause strife and wars. I have seen some of these people. I have faced some. They nearly all have devil spirits in operation.

As a son of God I have the ability of God to discern spirits. It is one of the nine manifestations of the spirit spoken of in Corinthians.

These sprits stir up strifes and wars. They cause suufering by pointing fingers and false accusation.

The religions of the world are all man made, they are not of God. God's word calls them 'the doctrines and commandments of men'. God is not into religion. John 4:23-24 states that the true worshippers of God will worship in spirit and in truth. The spirit is tthe gift of holy spirit from God. The truth is the truth of the word of God.

The true christian walk is one of healing and deliverence. One of fighting spiritual forces not men. The Word of God says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalites and powers (rulerships and dominions) against spiritual wickedness from on high.

We are here to combat the devil and his minions, not fight among men. Those who instigate fighting men are not following God's truth. They are stirring men to wrath and war. They are following the God of this world and his minions.

Clishmaclaiverin you are right about the devil tricking people into believing he does not exist. He is good at disguising himself as God and leading people to destruction. He tries to pretend he is the one true God to better enable him and his minions to infiltrate and destroy.

Do not be fooled people, the enemy we face is clever and sly. He is a cunning serpent. The word serpent denotes one who can hypnotise and mesmerise.

However, those who are born again of God have the power and authority to overcome the enemy and all his minions. To drive them out. And to resist their hypnotics and evil.

So thank you for the chance to speak the truth here and set the record straight.

I'm atheist, and you are not influenced by the devil because he does not exist, just like god and Jesus. God-based religions are imaginary and stupid stuff. The real thing is that good and evil does exist, just like us, and create a balance between the light side and the dark side, none of them cannot exist without the other. It's our own human nature who invented religion.

Not a bad question. What would give the Christian devil more pleasure than to see faith turn into vicious fanaticism? To see terrible evil done in the name of his enemy? Food for thought among the religious...

Look after you're dead you cease to exist - you are no more. That is a side effect of death. There is no resurrection, no life after death, no heaven and no hell. No one is going anywhere except to be worm food.

I think the fact that you're here baiting christians shows your own insecurity in your lack of faith. Possibly, you're one of those professed atheists that wants to believe, and thinks its our job to convince you. It's not. We're to spread the word, you've heard it and rejected it, that's it.
