Need to vent me spleen guys so stick with me a min.
Just been to a civil wedding ceremony between two men. Outside are a group of protestors with banners claiming to be of a religion and shouting abuse like "this is a sin!"
Ok maybe in YOUR mind this is a sin. If you are right then, God will surely deal with them when and how he wants to when they leave this Earth. But who gives them the right to persacute, invade and make a mockery of these gay mens beliefs.
You don't see them standing outside a church with banners objecting to you! Who do you think you are? Just because there is however may billion of Catholics or Christians in the world who believe the same thing it doesn't make that thing true.

They had a great ceremony thanks Wolf even though we had to sing over the chanting from outside.

I don't mean to tar everone with the same brush but people who do this sort of thing under any God's name should look deep within themselves first.

s0c1al1st: This is the hate I am talking about. OK according to you, your god tells you to hate??? Nah that's not right no god would do that. It's you who hate and use your god as a excuse. Take responsibility for your actions instead of blaming someone else!

Yes unfortunelty some close their minds off to reason. But that happens to all sides of an issue and even more so when that issue is a "hot button topic" like Gay marriage. Most Christians understand that we are all sinners and all will be Judged by God. Man can not judge sin. But please try to refrain from lumping all christians into one gatagory. As some Gay men are appaled by other Gay men that march in parades nearly naked holding phalic Symbols.. (been there seen that).. so to are christians appaled by some of our brothers that would do this sort of thing, People seem to think that their judgement of others maters, yet people that truely are following christ know that only "ye without sin cast the first stone" they try to think that what they are doing is the Christian way but forget Christ's teachings

..and thewolf. what the Heck are you smoking? You can not MAKE others believe you. they have free will and in this matter need to believe you cant force one to beccome christian. And those that have tried to Force there religion on children it usually backfires. Of corse we believe others beliefs are wrong! you obviously believe ours is wrong.. and then you go on to say "makes no logical sense" is this not a statement of opinion? are we not entitled to ours for some reason?

People may or may not agree with gay/lesbian marriages, but we are not suppose to judge. Are you gonna get all bent out of shape because the person next to you at the supermarket picked green grapes instead of red? I know it's not as huge a deal as it is picking your life partner, but if you think about it, its the same thing. They are there for you to choose.

I am a christian as well. But all these people who claim to be christians and judge and persecute others obviously need to take another look at the bible. There are a few versus in Romans, ( the middle I believe, maybe around Romans 13) Where it states, that no man shall judge. It is God alone who will do the judging, so let it be so. It also says (not in these words exactly), that you may not be fond of someone, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt serve them water if they are thirsty. In other words, you dont have to like everyone, or agree with everyone, but live and let live. Let them make their own decisions, thier own mistakes, and accept the fact that they will be judged by THEE judge in the end. They dont need to be judged throughout their entire earthly life by anyone else. Your opinion is irreleavent.

Those people who hold a strong anti-LGBT stance are totally illogical. Do they have any idea how to respect others' civil and legal rights? These people are essentially the Cybermen in Doctor Who - they believe only by making everyone the same can the world become a safe and better place. Nonsense.

Why don't those Christians pull out their banner and protest outside vegetarians' homes? After all, it was God's will to feed those people fish and bread (Jesus Feeds 5000)

We people of the LGBT community have to be strong. There is no shame of who we are, and let us not give in.

Were these protesters thinking maybe the happy couple would see them and say, "Holy $hit, you're right! We ARE committing an abomination and defiling the word of god. I never thought of that before. OK, wedding's off, we're each going to become Christians and only have sex with women from now on."

Has that ever happened?

spenderalla1972: I just checked my Bible, and did not find one single positive thing about YOU in the entire book. So I guess you'll be joining the gays in hell.

joe b: Yes, that's a good point. "Things" have gotten worse in the past 30 years, and also gays have come out of the closet more. There HAS to be a correlation - it's just too unlikely to be a coincidence.

The example of Sodom and Gomorrah, shows how God punishes those societies where homosexuality thrives, and these protestors don't want to suffer the wrath of God, so they are righteous in making these homosexuals self-conscious.

Homosexuality is against almost all religions, not just Christianity and Catholocism. Homosexuality is a controllable behavior like anger is a controllable behavior, there are many people who were hetrosexual, and realized the shame and/or evil of homosexuality and became hetrosexual again. Many men in U.S. prisons are known to engage in homosexuality, but return to hetrosexuality when they leave the prison. It is convenient to think that homosexuality is genetic, just as it was convenient to think that the ignorance of enslaved "negroids" of Africa was genetic.

Many people excuse homosexuality among humans, by pointing to the homosexuality among animals, but that is the difference between humans, and animals, humans have unlimited abilities of self-control, whereas animals don't and those humans who have no self-control, become retarded like animals, because the primitive part of the human brain attacks/shrinks the evolved parts of the human brain (e.g. memory and learning), such as in depression and schizophrenia. Many homosexuals get depression through continous loss of self-esteem, because the practice of homosexuality can never be shamelessly defended. And depression often leads to schizophrenia.

So much easier to look at others than to look at yourself. These are the same people ignoring hungry children in the house right next to theirs. The same ones beating their children (spare the rod and all). The same ones cheating and miserable.

Christians are a strange lot sometimes. I like what the message is I just don't know how so many get it twisted. The same ones send their sons to kill and ignore the parts of the bible that conflict with their own lives. If the spent the same energy correcting themselves what a wonderful world it could be.

The constitution gives them the right to stand out and say pretty much whatever they want. Actually, I have seen some people stand outside of churches with their banners protesting whatever they believed. If people can hold a protest of the war right next to the funeral service of a dead U.S. soldier, they should have the right to protest outside of a marriage ceremony. For the record I don't agree with and would not participate in either.

As a Christian, I do not condone protests of this sort (and I don't think I'm alone in this). Protesting outside a ceremony is in extremely poor taste, and is a dire embarrassment to almost any person of faith. Then again, my particular sect isn't against gay marriages to begin with, so don't make the mistake of thinking that all Christians are intolerant bigots.

oh wish i could have been there i just love gay guys they are the sweetest ever. catholics and so called christians have never been squeemish about imposing their false religion on others and should be considered as the thick little sheep they are and be pitied as they follow a religion which is designed to keep them in the dark and in fear and of course to keep them putting their hands in their pockets. they are the ones who will go to hell and by the sound of it the sooner the better. hope the guys had a great day and give them my best wishes for the future

They should just rename all religions 'hypocrisy'. Then they can all go to hypocrites meetings and be hypocritical together! I thought god was supposed to have created mankind (and therefore gays) and be all forgiving anyway! I am so sorry that your friends special day was infected with this poison, may they have a long and happy life together.

I'm sure we can find some lions to throw those christians to!
