I don't know if it's cool or not. I've never done it. but I don't think it would be very much fun. Not only that but some guys may take that as, You want to go home with someone. Not very safe either.

I say pick the bar or club wisely! If the characters look shady, be safe about it, don't stay out late, etc. What about hip lounges or music cafes? Those are pretty safe. You can listen to music. Sit down, have a drink. I've been doing that lately--going by myself. Hey, I have to! Some of my friends aren't into it. They all have bfs--so they don't care if I'm looking for someone. Besides, I've found being on my own makes me more approachable. The first few times I tried it, I thought I was going to look so pathetic. But it actullay encourages you to match up with someone quicker, strike up a conversation. So, it's cool.

Bar yes, club no. I used to work away a lot so I'm used to having a drink in a pub alone but people do tend to look at you wierd as if you're a hooker or have been stood up. Take a book, works for me.

Cool to a guy, dangerous for the girl. You don't know who might see you at the club and what they are thinking so always bring back up.

Might be cool, but its very unsafe, unless there are people at the bar who know you and can look out for you. Haven't you been watching the news the last year? Its sport to abduct single women.

Cool and not cool. I used to do it because I didn't want to have tag along girlfriends and to go when I wanted. So it was good for me but then guys think you're looking for action.

I don't think its a matter of cool or not - its a matter of safety. I know for me, I would never enter into one without friends or someone I trusted. Needless to say I have had my handful of "unwanted" attention that have lead me to believe that. You read all the time about warnings regarding this.
But again that is up to the person.. to me I wouldn't

It's crap. You feel a lemon and look one as you are uncomfortable. You get approached only by drunk losers.
If you sit at a table you lose your seat when you get the next drink.
If you sit at the bar you get beer spilt on you until you lose your seat when you go to the loo.
So not cool
