Most people are born into what they believe, those that aren't have an even lesser chance of changing their minds.

Politics AND Religion, my bad. But seriously, there is no point.

2006-09-08 12:06:16 · update #2

I know that politics are almost always tied to religion, that is why I said both of them. I understand that they are both emotional topics and people get heated about them. I guess I'm trying to make more of a point than I am trying to ask the question. Politics is like arguing about religion. I don't understand why people can't accept the fact that others believe in different things. Why is there so much arguing about it? It's senseless.

Here's another question, Why did I even bother asking a question??? Some of the answers on here are soooo stupid.

Ya and I'm sure people do change their religion but it isn't the result of someone telling them they are stupid for believing what they do. If self warranted. They search for other things if they are curious.

Because people like to argue.

It depends on what you mean by argue. I will hopefully stand for what I believe, but I try and not start fights. I was not born into my faith, by the way. I first believed in God and subsequently Jesus at the age of 21. I think there is nothing I'd rather talk about than politics and religion. They are windows to the soul.

Sex, politics and religion are three topics that I have always heard you are never supposed to talk about. This is because people have so many different points of view. In general people tend to associate with others who share the same beliefs and values they do, otherwise you end up arguing and debating with people who don't agree with your opinion.

Lots of reasons -- the most obvious, to me, is that there's always some group (usually religios that is tied to some political agenda) trying to infringe upon the civil liberties of others.

Personally, I don't care what these people believe in, as long as they do not attempt to impose their beliefs on other people. The arguing comes in when they start doing that.

because it affect the day to day lives of normal people, like you and me.... if certain evil "holy" books had never come in to existance then you can bet the middle east would be a less war torn region...

1) Religion is posion and a bad plague
2) Politics is Policy that is not tied to religious /supertitious hearsay

Therefore religion is very bad for society, open your your favourite news website right now and read the latest story about how some islamic lunartics have freshly killed some other islamic lunartics ... or have blown up innocent people in cold blood ... all on the name of some fake "god" ... world gone mad ... the super-intelligent alliens out there would laugh their asses off at mankind for believing in such rubbish!

religion is bad...

The part of your sentence that comes after the comma doesn't make any sense. Anyway, you aren't born into it, unless you mean that your parents teach it to you in the early years, and if you don't think, you repeat the stuff without thinking for the rest of your life.

If politics were senseless, (which it may be) there would not be any reason to have Republican and Democratic parties, who engage in arguments day after day.

It is because politics and religion are two topics that people feel strongly about and when someone differs on something you believe strongly in then invariably discussion and even arguments ensue.

Cause we all believe or think our belief is the right one and we get upset when other people or events challenge our beliefs. No one wants to be proven wrong.

because these are the juiciest topics to argue about... and some people are VERY adamant about their beliefs (especially when they feel that the other side is completely ignorant for even HAVING the beliefs they have)..
