God was not a man. Jesus was a man.

People believe what they want to believe, but not believing in anything at all is just plain dumb. Take a look at nature, I don't thing it just happened. Okay, who made the Big Bang? You can't get something out of nothing.

Neither, neccessarily. Since there is no actual evidence either way, despite your contentious assertion, the existence/gender of God is a matter of opinion. As long as you have seriously considered your opinion and not just accepted what you have been told, you are not brainwashed. But I would hazard to say that most in both groups are, and, since Christians still outnumber Atheists, Christians are the more brainwashed.

I liked your questions til I ran across this one.
Atheists are the ones who are brainwashed. They believe in relatively new theories that are supposed to explain creation, life, and everything else that matters in this world. Christians believe that God the Father created us all, but the Son (a part of God) came to bring us salvation.
Aren't muslims more brainwashed than either, since they believe a MAN with a child-bride who sinned everyday of his life, was some great prophet with a bunch of un-godly ideas? And aren't they the ones who think that you'll have a bunch of virgins given to you as a reward when you get to Heaven? Christians just think you'll live in paradise, but without the virgins (and you try to say that muslims value women?)

Who is more brainwashed, an atheist or a Christian?

To 'Me': It has to be the 'ATHIEST/Agnostic': (I really don’t like the word: ‘Brainwashed’… but can not at this time of the morning, think of a better word!!)… ‘WHY’? Simply because the world around them is designed that way… Religious Bigotry/Fundamentalism: War… Murder … Rape… Starvation … Aids … Cancer: and this: -

Yesterday: my friend of over 30 years: his wife: and ‘4’ other siblings aged ’13-9-6-3’… a family whom I love as my own family… ‘Lost’ there baby at ‘30 Weeks… still born, at 3 lbs’!! This is the ‘Third’ baby to be lost to the couple in 18 years!!

I am a Christian, & have been for 22 years… after spending 21 years well & truly in the ‘Normal’ world (whatever ‘Normal’ is)!! I have personally prayed for people: & seen them recover… I have given & received ‘Prophetic’ messages: and seen them come true… I, when I was ‘FAR’ from worthy (to be polite): was saved from a fatal overdose by God alone!! I know beyond ‘ANY SHADOW OF DOUBT’: there IS A GOD & his word is TRUE: But today… with my friends… I felt as lost and bereaved as they… & had no ‘ANSWERS’ to give them!!!!

I can hear the screams now as people read this… “OH MY GOD”!!! … “If there is a God then ‘WHY’ did he let this happen… & especially at 30 weeks”? “So much for your ‘LOVING GOD’”!! “God ‘CARES’ for us: Ha”: “If he could SAVE you, and you say you were not worthy… ‘WHY’ could he not save this innocent baby’? And no doubt worse comments than this!! And I: who love God with all my heart: cannot blame them for thinking or feeling this way… and worst of all… Have no ANSWERS in response to them!!

If it is difficult for me to grasp or come to terms with: who has truly ‘Experienced’ & ‘Witnessed’ the things of God first hand: who has ‘Faith’ to believe… How difficult must it be: without the Lords intervention… for a Non-believer to accept there is a God??

Shalom… RIP … “Baby YASMIN” xoxoxo!!

In order of "brainwashedness",

1) Muslims
2) Christians
3) Jews

These 3 are the same thing. only that 2) came from 3) plus some roman, greek, persian and egyptian stuff, and 1) came from both 2) and 3) plus a lot of other stuff as well..

As-Salaam Aleikum.

Atheists can be easily brainwashed too, but fortunately for them, not by religions.

The atheist, surely not the christian. So far for the christian view God was a man that came here in the flesh- a form of a man and we christians are not brain-washed. Now an atheist may be brain-washed cause they believe in nothing and their signs and ways are not clear. I figure you are not a christian cause you would have better things to do than wonder who is brain-wahed. Are you?

Athiests. Nobody with a brain can possibly argue that the Bible is a historical book. There was a man named Jesus and He was crucified. This is never an argument. The argument is: Is He God. The choices are: 1. Yes because somebody told me so. 2. Yes because I have seen first hand what He has done in my life/others lives 3. I'm not sure yet. But the most ignorant, most stupid choice is 4. I don't believe in anything. Okay then.....why do drug addicts who give their lives to God immediately are healed and never touch drugs again? Why and how are babies formed, created, birthed? Who controls every wave, every sunrise, every sunset and the moon? How do prayers get answared? Who answars them? God.

In my experience: I have known Christians that are thoughtful and self-aware. I have also met many who easily fill the criteria of "brainwashed"...sheep-like crowd behavior, unquestioning acceptance of whatever interpetation of their holy book their preacher is assaulting them with, and passionately stubborn against any thought that does not conform with their preconceived beleiefs.

Athiests are not brainwashed: "Brainwashing" is a deliberate effort by an outside source or entity. Athists that I have known are inquisitive, questioning, and skeptical. Very difficult minds to control.

BTW: Atheists have never claimed to "know everything". They are quite aware that humanity does not have all the answers of the universe in its grasp...yet. Christians, on the other hand, frequently insist that all the knowledge we'll ever need is in their Bible...and that the proof of their claims is magically self-evident.

What "signs" of God are you speaking of? Existence does not nessecarily point to the existence of a creator except in semantic games. Please be specific so thet your signs can be directly addressed.

Neither.

Brainwashing does no exist because NO ONE can make ANYONE believe in something unless they are wanting to believe.

This is what the definition of Brainwashing means;
a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas

The key word here, "Induce"; to call forth or bring about by influence or stimulation

The only thing any of us are truly capable of doing is Influencing another, but the other has what is called choice and science even backs this up. Thought is an individual endeavor. No One has access to your thoughts, just as you have no access to mine, it is scientifically impossible to force someone to think a certain way unless they are already inclined to think that way.

Belief is personal perspective. They way you may see something is not necessarily the exact same way I would see something. Think of an auto accident where three or more people have actually seen the exact same thing, but describe it not exactly 100% the same way.

This is only my opinion as your may differ.

Well, brainwashing means that you believe what you are told to believe. The Christian believes what their parents and pastors taught them. The athiest does not. This person has reviewed the evidence and made a decision for themselves. Therefore the Christian is more brainwashed.
