Most of the atheist I have had contact with, do not believe in heaven or hell. So it seems like a contradiction when they tell someone they are going to hell. Also most people Christian or other wise fear the fact that they might go to hell. So they become defensive when they are told they are going there.

It's a Oxymoron, a Atheist can't say that and really believe it anymore than a true Christian believes he can pray a Atheist to Heaven.
It's just angry and hateful and means the argument has gone non-rational.

Come on Julia. Has it even happened to you that someone responded that way, or was it only a dream that you had...
You telling a Christian that they are going to hell would worry them about as much as telling them that they should get a new hair style. Do you notice that when you say things to people, they always gently pat you on your shoulder and say something like "Yeeeessss, yeeessss Julia. I'll get right on that!"

i don't consider myself a christian but i do believe in hell. a personal hell, i don't believe in the christian hell

In oreder for an atheist to believe in a hell, they have to accept that there is an opposite to hell, HEAVEN.

I never tell Christians they are going to hell. Thats one of the bad things that they do to us, make all kinds of idle threats.
My version of hell for them would just include mandatory courses in critical thinking.

Thank you , you have just finished off my faith and I think I should become an agnostic. After all you have just disproved God by showing that an organism with the I.Q. of an amoeba can actually work a computer.
