National average for office visit is $25, First vaccine..about $12-18. A pack of 50-100lb heartworm pills..about $30 up to $70..depends on the brand. If rabies vacc. is included, another $12-18. If the puppy has not been wormed, that needs to be done too. Another $20ish maybe..depending on the brand.
Heartworm preventitive DOES have a lot to do with the weight of the dog!!!!!!! Don't listen to some people!!!!!
DO not buy your own vaccines at the feed store!!!!!! Most are a 7 way vaccine and only the 4 way is necessary!!!!! The AVMA does not even think the 7 way is a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And puppies should be strated on heartworm preventitive if there are still mosquitos!!!!!!!!!! Since the puppy is 50 pounds, it seems like it is at least 4 months. Time to start the preventitive!!

It depends on where you live and where you go. If you go to a low cost clinic that just does basics and no exam, it's probably cheaper. If you go a regular veterinarian, it is probably more expensive but you get a thorough exam and probably some freebies, too. For the first shots (Exam, Distemper combo (DHPPC), dewormer and first dose of heartworm preventive) it generally costs our clients around $65-$70 depending on the size of the puppy (dewormer and heartworm preventive is dosed by weight). Add a Rabies vaccine if your puppy is at least 12 weeks old for about $15.00. Boosters generally run around $25.00 and your puppy will need at least 2 boosters.

It depends on the vet and nothing to so with the weight of your dog. After the first set of shots, your dog will need two more sets of shots three weeks apart. Some vets will give the rabies vaccine when the pup gets the third round f vaccines. It depends on the vet and the laws in your area.
Yes, heartworm medication DOES depend on the weight of the dog. Vaccines , however DO NOT.

when ever we go i count on bill around 90.- 100 dollars. its well worth it, Doc has always said puppies don't need heartworm testing or pills until they are 1 year old. do't forget ou can find a local feed store where i've priced the 9 in 1 shots for 6 bucks, off course you need to give the shot to him, good luck

there are alot of clinics that can give good deals if you are worried about the cost. There are also clinics that do very cheap spay and neuters. Depending on where you live, (i live in Utah) google "no more homeless pets" then your state name, and it will bring up sites for cheap stuff. good luck
