WOW, that is way too young to have a child. What else do you expect from West Virginia though?

She has a lot more to be concerned about than being emancipated. She needs to be first concerned with having a healthy baby (getting proper prenatal care). Then she needs to decide whether she is keeping the baby or putting it up for adoption (that will answer some financial questions). If she is keeping it, she needs to prove paternity with a DNA test then file for child support with the father (even if he is a minor--for documentation sake if nothing else, she may need it later). If she is keeping the baby she needs to attend parenting classes and to arrange to finish school (because she hasn't got a financial chance in the world without education) and start planning a life with a child. She needs to do as much of this as possible on her own. She decided to drop her pants so this is HER responsibility not yours. You can direct her to the resources but she needs to access them.

Worry about emancipation when she needs it, after the baby is born. Consult a GOOD attorney.

NO- having a child has nothing to do with emancipation. The court is the only one who can emancipate someone.

the only way to get emancipated is via marriage or a court proceeding.

No - and guess what? Depending on the state laws, you maybe responsible for all bills, etc. Where's the father? This child is having a child. Sounds like you are in another state? Why aren't you with her? No guilt trip meant, I just know she needs you.

no, you have to be at least 16 to be emancipated, however since she is pregnant she may marry the baby's father with your consent and then she would be emancipated.
