Usually Good Will, Salvation Army and other organizations have recepticles around your town or any town nearby.
If they're children's clothes and you have a Children's Services office (state) somewhere nearby you could ask if they want the clothing. Sometimes children who are taken from their homes have no clothing with them and need a few things until someone can buy them new clothing.
Shelters (particularly shelters for abused women) usually want clothing donations.
Usually relief agencies for international assistance to people don't want clothing because they find money lets the agency buy what it needed and appropriate in an area.
If the clothing is appropriate, there may be some agencies who deal with elderly people who have need. You could ask your local Senior Center if they know anyone who has need or else if they know of other local places who have need.
Ask local churches. Churches often take some donations of certain things.
You could go on Craigslist online and post the type of clothing you have, offer it free (they have a place for free stuff), and say you'd prefer it go to someone who needs it rather than someone who's collecting rags. If you're able to delilver it say that. If you have to have someone come get it say that. Its free, and it has a place for your area.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you want to donate clothes so they can go directly to someone rather than through a place like Goodwill or Salvation Army?
Try homeless shelters. Also, there are places (at lease in my county) that have clean clothes for people without them having to pay. You may want to ask at your church or place of worship. The pastor/minister/rabbi may know of some places.
Also, if you have children's clothes, a local pregnancy center will be happy to take them. Young moms always need clothes in good condition.
You can also contact your local United Way. The staff there may have some ideas (Good Neighbors, St. Vincent DePaul)

Any charity shop - unless you have a particular need for your old clothes to go to people, then the salvation army is the place to send your stuff.
Hope that helps

It would depend what type of clothing you have. Men's women's or children's. You can take them to almost any homeless shelter, mission, thrift store, church, or in some places the DSS (department of social services). I know that these places help people that really need it.

Well, if i got u right, you can safely deliver your items at the near by opportunity shop or their main office. To me it does not matter which charity org you donate to. It all serves the same worthy cause.
God bless you for giving.
