no it does not. live video and such featuring real people is not the problem. statues, paintings etc depicting people (like the prophets) and animals are prohibited because people tend to end up worshiping and praying to that instead of God.

In principle, there is no such ban. Islam discourages polytheism in any form and if the carved images or photos are used for idolatry then it is definitely what Islam prohibits.
Moreover, if the images contain nudity then it is also against the spirit of Islam as Islam expects its followers to maintain a level of modesty. This, too, should be avoided.
Obviously, there is nothing wrong with video or TV unless it goes against the above stated principles.
By the way, Muslims do not make pictures of prophets out of reverence. My personal opinion is that it was prohibited by jurists so that a person may not associate himself too much with that image.

That is a very smart question, and i've seen that some muslim ppl dont like their pics taken. I wonder if video's and broadcast telivision make a diffrence too.
*oh, the answer above mine is right, statues and those kind of things are bad cuz it makes it idol worship, which is wrong. Oops i forgot about that, my bad.

There is no ban on depicting the human figure. The ban is on depicting the likeness of the prophet.

it isn't a 'muslim' ban, just something the people made up out of respect.
