Mostly rubber and wax. The wax is a hardener that melts when you chew it, and that's why it gets soft.

The rest of the ingredients are sugars and flavors that are mixed in with the rubber.

it used to be made from the sap of gum trees but now they use chicle as the main ingredient

It has corn syrup for sweet, flavors for taste, and especially rubber for texture (real chicle rubber)..
