No matter what the age limit is, teenagers will do it whenever they want, be it before they are 16 or after. I think the best thing we can do is to help them in a friendly, not teachery way, with the facts and tell them that any time they need to talk or would like advice, we are here for them and we wont judge or shout or become like raging bulls when we hear something we dont like.

In England the age of consent is 16 but there are 12 years olds either pregnant or sleeping with boyfriends. The law makes no difference the teenagers will do what they want.
Sadly that society we live in.

Well, by 16 a person is pretty much grown...but in reality I think 18 is a better age to experiment because it really does give a person more time to mature...not a lot but more so than 16.

I think there should be an IQ test. That way there would be less idiots. Age has nothing to do with readiness. 200 years ago a 16 year old girl was already married.

Well its advise to do it when your older because if you have a child, your up a creek without a paddle! But you shouldn't just wait to have sex and time it and stuff. Its a beautiful experience and it shouldn't be wait for your age.. Let it flow! You know if it happens you will know but dont go on pressure for sex then the guy is a jerk!

I dont think it really matters....whatever age the age of consent is, you're still gonna get lots of underage teenagers having sex...its strange, coz in Holland, the age of consent is 12...and they have the lowest teenage pregnancy rate.

I was under the impression it was 18 years old.
16 yrs? wow, alot are still immature and not responsible enough to make that decision. They make the decision by the wrong emotions and reasons, that is why there are soo many young underage mothers out there.

Nope, totally disagree!
I know many 18 yo's that are way too immature to be having sex...I also know 16 yo's that are more than mature enough to have sex responsibly.

It depends on the individual - don't go assuming all 16 yr olds are ''immature'' to have sex, aslong as its safe why should it be ur concern?
