I went over my bfs house for dinner and I brought my fried green tomatoes and he and his family loved it. His mom was very criticial of me, and she was saying all of this stuff in Spanish "it's would be shame to this family to have dark grandchildren" She constantly keep on making rude remarks about my race in Spainish like Mayata, my bf was defending me and his mother was trying to out him down calling him a "tratior". I don't understand, I was very polite and sweet to her, Why does she hate me?

Unfortunately not all parents are going to like who their children choose to make the rest of their lives with. Predjudism is not uncommon in our society and she sounds to be full of it. There is no making people like that like you because it just doesnt happen.
As a parent, I cant tell my kids that I dont like who they choose to love, it would not be right of me, but that is me.
If you love this man and do plan to spend the rest of your life with him, then she will just have to learn to live with it. You however will have to find a way that he can spend time with his mother without you and it wont be easy but can be done. Many do it all the time. He will have to stand up and let her know that you are the one that he has chosen and that its not up to her. Her dislike of you is something that she will have to deal with... not you.

Because sometimes a strong sense of culture makes people racist. Time to do some major thinking. Do you want your kids growing up in such a hostile environment? Do *you* want to be subjected to her underhandedness each step of the way?
Good for your BF for defending you, it sounds like he is supportive and will be there for you in this situation.

it is call a huge ingredient referred to as appreciate i imagine you & your husband might want to verify at the same time with her do not enable your husband verify at the same time with her on my own she will be in a position to imagine he's scuffling with your battles for U even as that's a topic for both one of U. She may be kidding yet someone can surely take a lot.You 2 are marrierd & she might want to appreciate that & have appreciate for her sons spouse, because even as 2 people get married they develop into one if she would not like U thats her lose! basically U 2 sit & tell her how this upsets U, do not tell her what U suggested about hating her if this countenues, basically tell her it hurts U. It's simple, you are sweet, but she's a racist. Just remember, you will always have this conflict with his mom. You need to decide now, if you want to deal with this for the rest of your life or not.
If he invites you to her house again, just say no thanks, I'm not going, due to your mothers actions and words last time. She will never change. No one who is this way ever does.

Look, we have seen this situation with every person, but usually in movies. Shes doing that because she is traditional and a little racist. She was brought up in a different way thats why.

Old way of thinking, they can't help it. Biggotry once taken root in someone will never die fortunatly the person does die.
If you can tolerate it untill she dies stay with the guy, he was defending you after all

Mothers in law are nasty to their son's gfs!! They are always jellous and when they don't have the propriate manners it is obvious.. Maybe she is also racist. But don't bother, the man that u are interested in is nice to u so everything is ok. Keep beeing polite and persuade her that she is not right!

She feels threatened by you and is afraid that you are going to "take her little boy away from her", basically meaning she is afraid you will replace her as the important woman in her son's life. She is doing what she can to either drive you away or make him not want to be with you.
