why doesnt the mic work?

its not the USB kind its a kind u plug in but that doesnt matter. i did two training sessions and it understood my words but i want to make a video and i tried once and i dont hear my words. just kind of a buzzy sound but i dont know if that happens even if i dont have a mic.

first check if your mic works. check an speaker icon on your desktop its by your time at the right botom, double click on it, new window pops up, there will be colums of volume control, in one of the colums will say microphone, check if check box mute with out the check. after that make the valume on louder position, if that wont work put more description on your question.
