this guy I know never uses coffee filters. He uses paper towels.

I use them in an emergency, but they don't get all the gunk out.

Wow, they must be really strong paper towells. I would imagine small particles from the paper towells wash off into the coffee and it probably gives the coffee a strange taste.

Works just as well. They just have to be trimmed so as not to come too much over the filter basket,or there will be messy overflow. the best thing is to use a permanent filter and never have to buy paper ones again.

I've used them before but they are more expensive than the filters
at dollar store there real cheap. They leave a funny taste.
Once it all came apart and I had to strain the coffee. You could taste the little pieces of paper.

I have also used this trick,the only thing is they have to be pretty good quality paper towels!

This guy you know is a fool.

Use filters. They're very cheap and won't come apart in the coffeemaker.

Maybe, but the process of manufacturing is not guaranteed to have nutritional uses.

sure that would work, or toilet paper, or cheese cloth, or a sock if you had to

just something porous enough to let the liquid thru
