My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now. We have a 2 year old and we have lived together for the past 6 months. I want to get married but he says when he is ready he will ask. He says that the timing has to be right. How Can I speed it up?

All you really can do is wait unless you want to propose to him.

I suggest making him just a little jealous but not in a way that he knows that you are.

You cannot make a man do anything and you shouldn't want to. Let him ask you because he wants to and he wants to spend the rest of his life with you, not because you want him to. In my opinion it gets the marriage off on the wrong foot. I have been in a relationship for a lot longer and i'm not married or engaged. When I feel as though I don't want to wait anymore I will leave the relationship. He knows you want to be married, just sit back and play your role and wait.

You can't, if you press him he will leave, if you threaten to leave him, he will tell you to go.
After all, you already have in to him in having a child and living together, why buy the cow when the milk is free. I know this is a terrible thing to say, but don't expect to have him change overnight if your willing to do what he wants without expecting him to step up first.
I know I sound mean, and I am saying this to help you, not hurt you, I will be praying that his time line moves up, or he decides to step up and be a man.

you cannot force someone to marry you, you have to wait until the right time. If you force yourself on him he may propose to you to get you off his back but he may not mean it. Just be patient and wait until he is ready, you won't regreat it. Its all about the surprise factor too. be patient and wait on the perfect time sweetie.

your first mistake was moving in with him. he has it all without the commitment.

get your own place with your child and tell him you need your own space as you feel undervalued. your good enough to have his child and live with but not marry??? he had 3 yrs and your telling me he never found a right time in all of that?

hate to break it to you but unless you shake things up and make him realise what life is like without you, your never gonna walk up that aisle. at least not with him!!

Don't do anything on purpose, in hopes that he'll ask you to marry him sooner. Let me ask you this, wouldn't it more meaningful, if he asked you to marry him, on his own, instead of being forced into asking you sooner than what he wanted to?
