...asks the man who's just watched Big Brother. Wonder what condition will get a fair showing in this morbid programme next? Epilepsy, perhaps?
That would be summat to watch, a grand mal amongst the maladjusted.

Yes, I suggest you start reading Oliver Sachs and get used to the fact that it exists and is not an excuse for swearing - just like Autism exists and is not "bad behaviour". I work with young adults who have a variety of emotional, social and behavioural issues. I am really sad to write that one of the biggest hurdles facing these young adults is other peoples' attitudes.

Yes, there can be challenging behaviour, but not as bad as a that shown by drunken slobs out on the town "sharing" their stupidity. Tourettes exists my friend, but before sounding so shocked take a closer look at society. There's far worse things happening that are for real. Ignorance and intolerance to name two of them.

of course...I have it and just so you know...I dont swear and most people with tourettes dont. I think some people need to get their facts straight before answering. and its not a disability at all. I function like a "normal" person and have never been slowed down by it at all.

Yes, it has been well documented by the medical community. I had the same first reaction to it, but there is too much data on it for it to be anything but the truth. Check out some websites on it..
