umm he's like one of my really good friends so it's not like i don't know him. so i don't need help talking to him, we talk every night on the phone. so basically i was banking on him asking me but i'm not sure if he's going to

If you don't want to straight up ask him then ask what he's doing for homecoming.. just talk about homecoming and you'll see if he asks you. If he doesn't, then try to approach it from a different angle.

Say, "Hey I don't have a date to Homecoming, why don't you ask me to go with you?" Say it in a cute playful way, he'll appreciate that you took the pressure off of him. Guys are actually really nervous when it comes to asking girls out. They don't want to be rejected just like you don't. Best part is, if he says he doesn't want to go with you, say you were kidding.

just ask him who hes going with if he hasn't asked or no one hs asked him then dont be shy just come out and ask him if he would like to go with you. People dont always catch hints.
