Sr, Junior, third, fourth, and so on
Senior and junior are 1st and second.

The only confusion is with the second person to have the same name. If its father and son, then Sr. and Jr. If it skips a generation or more then its I and II. An example of the latter is Henry Ford and Henry Ford II. After that in either case, the numbering follows.
As a side bar, I'm a junior and my father went by his first name and I was called by my second name to avoid confusion or referring to me as junior. While that worked when I was young, I've had to explain why I go by my second name all of my adult life. Think about what you're gonna do to your kid!

Traditionally only the firstborn son was named aftr Dad. Thus the first with the name was senior, then came junior, then III, then IV etc. All of the children should not have the same name in a family. It leads to chaos which doesn't promote the unity and peace families need to function properly.

That's not how it's supposed to work.

Father is Sr. (or the first)

Son is Jr. (or the second)

Son of son is the third

son of son of son is the fourth.

And so on and so forth. For an example, look up the Rockefeller family. The famous John D. Rockefeller, when he had his son, named the son John D. Rockefeller II (and this automatically made the first guy John D. Rockefeller I). The US Senator is John D. Rockefeller IV, and HIS son is John D. Rockefeller V.

Give your kids their own names.

Example: Daniel I is you, Daniel II is your first born son, and if you have another Daniel III and so on. Now when your kids have children they will continue the numbers with their first born sons.

The Sr and Jr thing really only works if you have one son. Your sr which mean senior and his jr(junior).

Give the kids their own names and then this won't be a problem. I understand naming one child, middle name only, after family members but think a lot of it is an ego thing. Why would you give all of your kids the same name, that is ridiculous.

well i did not want my son to be a Jr so i named him Gabriel II. the people at the hospital said that you could do it any way you want. but my husbands family has a jesse sr, jesse jr, jesse III, and jesse VI. so i guess you can do it either way.

Ask George Foreman...all of his sons are named after him. Why the hell would you want to do that any way? Talk about giving someone identity problems.
