Well if it was mine, I'd go to my local Amtrak station and buy it a one way ticket,,,baggage class.

Oh wait,,,you said Train?

First of all, begin at a very young age! Too late for that? Repitition and reward. Consistency definitely. Certainly forming a caring, trusting bond with the bird helps as well.

Since you don't state what training you presume, I'll suggest basics first. "Hello",,,walking up a ladder to retrieve a treat,,, whistling,,,IE: dog call whistles, flirty whistling, keeping in mind that a bird mimics, and often rambles without prompting, explore and expand on what the bird feels comfortable doing, on its own.

I happen to very much enjoy birds and have kept many in my life from wild to caged,,,which by the way I find the most cruel thing one can cause a bird to endure,,, and I have had talkers, play actors, hard drinkers, escape artists, and think it largely depends on your personal realtionship with the animal.

You just have to practice with them and make sure their wings are cut! In the beginning, they will fight you and make you bleed but just be patient. I grew up with all kinds of birds and they were totally wild. We tamed them all. I would start out with a small piece of fruit. Feed them fruit and while they are eating, slowly pet their back. The bird has to understand that you aren't going to harm it. Once it trusts you, it should go smoother. After you can pet their back, then start with their belly. When it trusts you to do that, it should naturally want to stand on your finger. Just put your pointer finger up close to their body. Be patient, ALWAYS move slow (so you won't scare them) and DON'T give up!!!!! Good luck...

If you mean train him to talk, then there is only one answer: repetition.

The best way is play a CD that says the same words over and over, you can buy them online or at pet stores.

you put a dark fabric over its cage, so that it seems like its night, and then continuously say whatever you want it to repeat, for liike 5 minutes. after a couple of weeks, itl get stuck in its head, and itl say it over and over again.
