There are some christian death metal bands, but Im not sure if they do 'roaring' type vocals in Church. \

There is nothing wrong with rap. In a church though- you are there to worship God together with other people- so not everyone can just do there own thing. You've liberty and freedom but it shouldn't be used to disturb or distract other people. i think that's the reason people are giving you dirty looks- it's not because they are "uptight, old fashioned" or against rap. It's like playing the drums real loud while everyone is singing happy birthday (it's rude and inconsiderate) and the purpose of being in church is to Honor God. You may or may not personally have that desire- but it's important to allow those who choose to do so, to do so...

Our church often does rap songs of hymns. The Lord just glad your praising him through song

i'd switch too a church that doesnt discriminate against people that want to worship the lord in your own way. it's wrong for them to do that. dont put up with it or change your ways. you're free to worship the lord as you choose.(actually it sounds fun i'll do it next time i go to church. thanx for the great idea!)

No its not wrong. However way you want to express yourself to God, is fine. He gave you the talent of rapping( or what I like to call "fast-sung-poetry). You do whatever the spirit lays on your heart to do and do not worry about the hypocrites who may burn in hell for their own sins at home.

I believe the bible says to make a joy full noise unto the lord, (sing and praise) it does not say how to sing, the problem probably lays within the generations.
