I believe 100% that prayers pay off. I believe I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for many many people praying for me when I was in a coma a few years ago. You may not see that God answers your prayers, but he does. there is a lot to be said for the power of prayer.

Do you mean" do prayers pay ?" The answer is no. But,if you are asking are prayers answered. I've seen too many answered, to not believe otherwise. There is power in prayer. With all my heart and soul I know they are answered.

Okay, if you are waiting for prayers to "pay off," then you are in the wrong religion. Prayers are meant to be a way for you to have a talk with God. If in the prayer you ask for anything, you must believe that God will choose the best solution for you, whether or not it is what you really wanted. He always has your best interest in mind.

I think that prayer really affects a person's outlook on their problems. Alot of times I think that the very thought that there can be a solution, even through divine intervention, is what helps people resolve their problems.

prayers aren't for waiting for a payoff.
my prayers are answered almost daily - and not always the way I want them to be either.
Prayers are communicating with the Father - and as such, He will decide what's best for our lives. Prayers help us to understand and get closer to God.
I'm not waiting for a lottery win. I just want to know God more, and that's done through prayer and studying scripture.

FROM MY EXPERIENCE YES, PRAYER MOST DIFFIDENTLY PAY OFF. 3 YEARS AGO I WAS DEEP INTO DRUGS AND GOT INTO MANY RISKY SITUATIONS THAT PUT ME ALMOST TO THE POINT OF DEATH. I DIDN'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH GOD. A FEW PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE PRAYING FOR ME BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT AND ONLY BECAME ANGRY WITH THEM. ANYWAYS, I CAME TO A POINT IN MY LIFE TO WHERE I WANTED TO END IT LIKE MANY OTHER TIMES BUT ONLY THIS TIME AN UNEXPLAINABLE PRESENTS COME OVER ME. I FELT THIS TREMENDOUS GUILT OVER TAKE ME AND I FELT THAT I JUST HAD TO KNEEL DOWN AND CRY OUT TO GOD. I'M SO THANKFUL AND PEACE NOW RULES MY HEART. I NEVER KNEW THAT THIS FEELING OF LOVE COULD EVER EXIST WITHIN MY DEPTHS. SO IF YOU ASK ME YES PRAYER HAS HELPED AND IS STILL HELPING ME GET THROUGH LIFE. IT'S NOT EASY BUT LIGHTER WITH BEING IN COMMUNION WITH GOD.

Does prayer work? Hundreds of millions prayed for God to stop Hitler, but God did nothing and 30 million+ died. Either God is heartless, powerless, both, or does not exist at all.

Personally I have stopped praying totally. I see no point when I can predict every answer. While the expletives may change or disappear entirely, the root answer is always the same; NO!!!
