If you go out with the guy you will likely lose your friend. So weigh your options and choose the one with the best likelihood of a good outcome.
If you choose to go with the guy over your friend, make sure you let her know early on. If she hears it from someone other than you it is even more likely that she will feel betrayed and stop being your friend.

I no this sounds a little over done but guys come and go but friends are 4eva. You promised your friend that you wldnt go for this guy...but since they aren't into each other anymore and you still really like him, you should talk to you friend about it. Maybe by talkin to her about it she will c how you feel towards him and give you the ok. But ultimatly it cums down to how much you value you friendship ova some guy (who i might add,cld only last a week). Talk to your friend see how she feels before you make a move

Hopefully you have a lot of friends that you can spare. You made a promise to her. True friends and they are hard to come by, don't stab each other in the back. If you really like this guy and don't care what she thinks, than go for it. Don't be surprised if you are no longer considered her friend.

Not a big problem. There's too much free dick out there to jeopardize a friendship. Why did you two have a conversation like that anyway? Have you done this to her before? Is she insecure about every guy she goes out with? Is this a solid, good friendship? Is she a good person? Are you a good person? Think about these things before you make a move. Good Luck.

If you are a true friend you will stick to your word... Real friends are hard to come by. You may really like this guy but is he worth a friendship? Most likely not and give it a week and you may find a guy that's even better....

I am just one of those people who don't get this whole " I like him, stay away from him FOREVER " thing .... I can understand if she saw him first and they actually liked each other. But they obviously don't like each other that much, or they would be together.... yes ?? Now that she is over him, as far as I am concerned he is free game... She has no right to be so selfish that she would me mad at you for getting with a guy she doesn't even like !!! Who is she to decide what your or his future is to be....Seriously, if she is going to be like that, she isn't a friend worth having... it means she is extremely selfish, and doesn't care about anyone else as much as she does her own feelings. If you really like this guy, who cares what happens. You can find a new friend who will be happy for both of you.

even if she says she doesnt like him any more, she will take it personal if you go out with the guy, you have to think about how important your friendship is... if she's just a casual friend than go with the guy, but if she is a good friend or better, than consider not messing with the guy.... if you do you'll be sure to lose her as a friend.

There are PLENTY of other guys out there you can date. If she is truly your friend then why would you betray her trust....get over that dude, and date one that looks and acts just like him....your friendship will last longer.

ok it all depend on what matters to u the most friend or boys. if shes ur friend she would understand if u date him. but more likely than not she will try to tell u that she would recoment u dont so u dont get hurt like her. but the thing is ur not her and ur views on dating are probably not the same. so think about it is he worth it and if so talk to ur friend and make her see ur feeling matter too.
