If he had done that, we'd have been born without free will and only love him because there was no other alternative. On the contrary, he created us to be anything BUT mindless sheep.
But, if you're hypothetically correct, then baaa.

God gave us free will, so we aren't told to love anything. For those who believe in God, it is they who choose to do so. And we weren't created to be so "mindless." We only use like ten percent of our brain now. Back in the day (and yes I mean before the Fall of Man) Adam and Eve were perfect. It is sin that made/makes us so "mindless." By the way, Jesus is the Good Shepherd, so that makes me one of His sheep, not a mindless sheep.
And there is nothing wrong at all with glorifying God.

In fact he gave us free will and the right to choose. Along with the right to choose comes the consequence of the choice. You can't have the one without the other.
He also gave us the capacity to be like brothers to him and to become friends with him, if we so choose.
Sheep follow because they believe and trust. In that way, yes, I am a sheep to Christ. I do not need to investigate every torrid deception, because I know my master and I'm going where He goes.
Do I pursue knowledge? Yes, I am intellectual and have collectively more education than most. Do I pursue wisdom? Yes, because I believe wisdom is learning what God would have me do with my knowledge, and therefore I spend much time reviewing God's interactions with mankind to discover pearls of wisdom.
From among the mindless sheep come the likes of David, Solomon, Isaac Newton, Leonardo Davinci, Michelangelo, and the greatest minds this world has ever experienced.
And from among atheists come...no benefit at all.
Wasted minds, rebelling against the God that they hate...pissing in the wind and declaring that there is no spray......

I don't really understand some of your question..."Sheep can love but only want they're told to love. Christians who believe in Hell are sheep."
But I know that we're not mindless sheep. We believe in God because we choose to. It's a commitment, a decision.
But you do admit that there's a God, so thanks for that. :)

Dear Abraxas,
sheep are stupid but often stray from the flock - that is why the shepherd needs a staff to prod them. In other words, they do have their own free will and can do whatever they want- when they do stray they get eaten by wolves.
Everyone has the capacity to love. But those who know God's love are able to love with the love of Christ. In that sacrificial- love your enemies, turn the other cheek way.
God did not create us to be mindless sheep.
Hope that helps,
Nickster

God did not create you to be a mindless sheep. If he wanted a mindless sheep he would not have given you free will and everyone would believe and obey him.
He wanted your love willingly.

First of all, thanks be to God that I am not a Sheep! We have choices in life. We can think. learn, and grow. We can become physicists, writers, dancers, and all because of our wonderful minds that God placed in there. If we use it for the greater good, thats even better. We like to thank God because we know He made life possible in the first place. No different than thanking our mothers at the grammy's or saying thanks to a guardian who has always been there for us.

You question is based on two assumptions; firstly that God exists and secondly that we are "mindless sheep". Unless you can prove that both of these assumptions are true your question is meaningless. Its like asking "why do short-sighted sheep eat toothpaste ?"
