Use dog toothpaste that's made for them. You can find it most anywhere pet supplies are sold. Human toothpaste would make them sick if they swallowed it. It even makes people sick if they swallow it. It's ok if dogs swallow the dog toothpaste.

You should use a toothpaste made specifically for dogs. Human toothepastes are not meant to be swallowed and with dogs, pretty much whatever goes in the mouth, goes down the hatch. It can upset your dog's tummy and fluoride has been linked by some studies with kidney problems, so use a dog toothpaste.

It can make your dog very sick indeed. Human toothpaste contains ingredients that even we do not swallow, we spit the stuff out.
A dog cannot spit so it will swallow.
You need a dog specific toothpaste that is widely available at pet shops, vets etc.

yes it will make them sick,they dont take the chemicals in today human toothpaste well. use chewy toys made for them or a dog toothpaste.

They make special dog toothpaste that you can use. If not, it won't make him sick just don't squirt it in his mouth or anything. Just use a little.

NEVER use human toothpaste as the floride if poisonus to them. use dog toothpast abd dog toothbrushes. (the pasts comes in meat flavor)

NO. AND THE SMALLER THE DOG THE MORE HARMFUL IT IT TO THEM. AND TOOTH PASTE WILL NOT HELP HIS BREATH BUT FOR A FEW MINUTES. DOG TO NOT HAVE BAD BREATH UNLESS HE IS SICK OR HAVE A LOT OF PLACK ON HIS TEETH. HAVE YOU HAD THE VET CLEAN THEM LATLEY. YOU SHOULD HAVE IT DONE AT LEAST EVERY 6 MONTHS.

Your tooth past contains ingredients that will make him sick and he will have troubles with it when it foams. Instead buy dog tooth paste, St Jon's is a good brand and you can find it most places that sell pet supplies.

Go to your local vet or pet store, and they have chew toys that cleans their teeth and also doggie toothpaste.
