Dear John,
i think all religions have the intent of making people better people, and are often very succesful at that. Mormons i think raise wonderful families, buddhists teach about honoring your parents. Many religions have similar values in some areas. But the end goal of religion is not to just be a better person- but to know God personally and this is what i think sets Christianity apart from other religions.
Kindly,
Nickster

I had a nice chat with a Mormon recently. I met a very polite Muslim man. A Wiccan gave me a good haircut. A Satanist wrote me an interesting e-mail. An Eckankar practitioner wished me a happy birthday. A Baptist offered condolences when my dog died. A Jehovah's Witness bought me lunch. A Hindu did a favor for my spouse.
And I respect all their religions, and enjoy learning more about them.

I believe that our beliefs and all of us have the potential of being able to grow into better persons and come to a more accurate understanding of things. This in turn will fulfill God's original purpose to have humans united from all different walks of life living happily together eventually evreyone believing and worshiping the One True God Psalm 83 vs 18

Whoever is practicing a religion and keeping it between himself/herself and god is doing the right thing. Trying to force people into other toughts is against being a good person. Anyone who is a radical believer and lost the open mind is not in the right track. Tolerance is everything. I have many wonderful friends around the world and I never asked what religion they practice. Who cares??

Okay....for starters
Buddists believe in meditation and teach people to seek peace.
The Muslims I know personally are some of the most kindest, gentlest people on earth and are willing to help others. One such store owner allowed me to buy something without having enough money and then told me to pay them back another time.
The Latter Day Saints are very focused on their families
The Roman Catholics believe in demonstrating their faith in service to others.
Wiccans/Pagans and all related beliefs believe in the beauty of nature.
The people of the Jewish faith believe in the importance of traditions and prize education.
The Shinto religion believes in respect for their elders (or am I confusing this with another religion)
The atheists (I know they don't believe in religion but for the sake of this post, humor me) prize logic. Spock (a la Star Trek, not Dr. Spock) would be proud.
The agnostics continue to explore and to carefully consider their beliefs.

There is one EARTH. There is ONE CREATOR. I think almost everyone would say that is true. People are born and raised to call GOD a certain name. Jesus or Mohammad, Buddha, Yahweh, Jehovah and many more. People are also TAUGHT different traditions and rituals. This becomes very strong because family and culture and emotions rule here. God is God. Can't we all just get along?

I think you have asked a great question. As a Christian, I love the Jews. They are the chosen race. I have never known an ignorant Jew, in fact most Jews I know are very intelligent. I have some very close Jewish friends and they respect me and my beliefs.
