Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 4:26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Col 3:8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.

Jam 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;
Jam 1:20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

In Galatians 5:19-25, Paul writes of the works of the flesh and the fruitage of the spirit. "fits of Anger" is listed as one of the works of the flesh. This is a bad thing. However, God is often spoken of as being angered but the behaviour of the Israelites, refer to Exodus, Numbers, I & II Samuel, shoot the whole Old Testament and even Jesus got angry and throw the money changers and merchants out of the temple. So my point is, it depends on the reason for your anger. If you're snorting around because you didn't get your own way then you're behaviour is unacceptable. But if you are angry because a true injustice has been done and you go about trying to change it, in a proper manner, then that's good. For example, you can be angry with yourself for not doing the right thing and it might motivate you to change your attitude. Or you might be angry because you know someone commited a crime and go to the authorities to give a witness against them. Your motivation and your actions are the proof of whether anger is good or bad.

It is acceptable to be angry over evil and injustice. Your anger is a trigger to motivate you to action, but your anger shouldn't lead you to sin, like revenge.

Many times God's anger burned against Israel for their disobedience, but even still God is slow to anger and very patient with us. Numbers 11:33 and Numbers 14:18.

In Matthew 21:12, Jesus was angry at the money changers in the temple for making it difficult for people to offer sacrifices at the temple. It had become a market place and wasn't serving the needs of the people.

Prov. 29: 11..."A fool gives full vent to his anger..." Matt 5:21-22 "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder and any one who murders will be subject to judgement, but I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother, without a cause, will be subject to judgement.

So, no, anger is not acceptable. Jesus said, "be angry and sin not." How is this possible? Because there is only one anger that does not lead to sin...and that is a righteous anger, an anger against those who sin against God.

A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.
Proverbs 29:11

Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
Ecclesiastes 7:9

Well there is indignation. In the New Testament, Jesus overthrew the tables because the people were using His house (the church) for the wrong reason and were not keeping it holy. But we have to control our anger. As humans, we can get mad over really stupid stuff and in order to be more godly we have to control ourselves. Hope this helps! sorry if what I talked about from the Bible isn't completely accurate. It's kinda hard for me to paraphrase. good luck=)

Anger is an emotion, we all get angry at some point. The word of God say not to go to bed while still angry, but to deal with whatever caused the anger, whether you have to apologize or forgive or whatever.There is more to it than this but should read it for yourself.

Genesis 49:7 A curse on their uncontrolled anger,
on their indiscriminate wrath.
I'll throw them out with the trash;
I'll shred and scatter them like confetti throughout Israel.

Uncontrolable anger is wrong.

Sorry I do not have a Bible to reference, but I know that it is in there...God has righteous anger as Christ did when the moneychangers were set up in the temple selling wares instead of teaching his word...

Honoring the WORD of GOD is so simple, we must know what the old laws were, and study our current covenant, because when the new covenant was given, at that time man-kind was also given the HOLY SPIRIT. Before this, man kind did not have the holy-spirit inside them, to help lead and direct them. They were living their lives without the advantage of the internal spirit- lead presence we poses today.

Jesus, died for us, to give the holy-spirit to us. Its important to know, when asking current questions regarding the WORD you must keep in mind that we christians today are under a new covenant. (New Testament)
The ways of old that dicated the ways and laws of Abramham, Moses, Jacob, Balaam, Eliab, and the like ARE NOT our ways.

We know we live by grace. God loves us NOT because of our good deeds, or how much money we give to the church, etc; but simply because HE is our Father and we love and praise HIM.

We are human, created by GOD in his image. We know GOD himself got angry and destroyed what HE hated. With our new spirit man we have the right to be angry, pray about it, and ASK GOD to remove that destroying feeling from our heart. We know negative feeling harm our temples (human body) So we ask that it be removed from us and our Spirit leads us back to a place of joy. Our choice, live in peace or sorrow. Anger, Hate, Depression, Sin, Sickness, it all surrounds Man-Kind...but the HOLY SPIRIT teaches us how to handle it and walk back to the place, God wants for us...our choice.

I don't know any specific verses in the new covenent, but anger is all through the old testament. Get in touch with your spirit, search the WORD with an inquiring heart and the holy spirit will lead you to your answer. When answers are placed in your heart,
you know what you know; and you know where it came from. You simply know.
