The voltage in the US is 120V AC 60Hz. Most overseas voltage is 220V AC 50Hz. You might look at the sides of your hairdryer for a switch that you can change to voltage on it. If not, look at the tag on you hair dryer and see what the rated voltage is for it. Anywhere between 90V - 130V AC will work.

120V 60Hz. India works on 230V, 50Hz I think. So the short answer is no. There are converters, but for the cost of them, you might as well just buy a cheap hair dryer once you get tot he USA.
