i for one am totally against this. i mean, why should kids get special treatment? i have seen a few kids in my time behaving unruly, rowdy, swearing on the bus, mucking around and i've seen a couple pressing the emergency button whilst the bus was moving and the idiots jumped out of the bus while it was moving! unbelievable eh? although not all of them are like this of course. some are behaving impeccably and set a exemplary example to others. but why shouldn't they pay, as well? we have responsibilites as adults, and the same applies to children. or has the likes of ken livingstone forgot about that?

It would not sound great, and many people will trust that's a way of advertising underage sex. yet I grew up contained in the Welsh valleys. i'm now 20. i replaced into in one of those 20 scholars at well-known college. Out of the 9 ladies in my type, 5 of them had little ones with the help of the time they were 18. one of them had 2 little ones. the actuality is that teenage being pregnant is a huge concern in South Wales. South Wales is the poorest area of Western Europe, with 25% of children starting to be up lower than the poverty line. I grew up on a council sources the position it replaced into truly uncommon for a lady to be a virgin at 16. Condoms are frequently the guy's determination, and the pill is an unnecesary rate for women. This ends up in such various teenybopper pregnancies, the position the youngsters improve up in poverty, even as the figure in no way works and lives of bennefits. Teenage moms value the country a fortune in bennefits. providing the pill for loose is a way of scuffling with this trend. besides the undeniable fact that it truly is a few distance from the answer. The Welsh assembly also has to handle the subculture of having a toddler elderly 16 with the intention to get a council homestead. many women see a toddler as a assure of a house, funded with the help of the state. back, this money a subculture of staying at homestead, residing off bennefits for an total life. increasing the incentives of work and practise, and lowering the chance to stay at homestead doing no longer something, those are the lengthy-time period solutions.

What on earth do kids under 16 need to have free bus travel for? They get half fare under 14 as it is and they still take up a full seat. Kids under 16 should be accompanied by an adult on all public transport in my opinion, except the school bus obviously.

Isnt it already free for kids in London?

From my knowledge, they send off and get a free bus/tube pass and if they cause trouble they get it taken away. Its great for poorer families.

Kids dont work and transportation is expensive, poverty is high in London and kids go on public transport to school, I dont have a problem with it, no-one should be denied an education.

As for trouble making kids, they will do that if they pay or not, but in my opinion they will do it less if they have the risk of their free bus pass taken away from them.

What is free, bus companies forced to carry them free of charge, or do they get tokens which the bus company redeem. if so how many tokens, or could an unscrupulous bus company redeem tokens for copies of the beano, Es or Heroine or tins of baked beans.
either way the little sods should be at home swatting for their GCSE s or sats or cycling proficiency whatever and leave the busses to the geriatrics who apperciate slow uncomfortable transport as it reminds them of their Pre Mk 1 Ford Capri, which they had from new in 1963 until it died of rust in the MOT of 1966, and indeed whose personal smell of stale urine masks the smell of fresh urine which accompanies the traversal of each speed bump.

We in West Midlands have free pensioner passes for after 09.30.
These people are called "twerlys."
This is because at 09.15 they ask the bus driver " are we too early to come on".....der yes.
Also our angels under 16 have half price fares not free travel and this half price allowance is paid out by the council.

because most people under 16 don't have a job! duh!
adults do!
damn i'm sick of these cynical adults that think teens suck. adults were teens too ya know. and yeah some teen's behavior is horrible but I am a well behaved teen and I have to go to school with the rest of these wackos every day so you should be able to deal with a small bus ride. get real.

The old age pensioners here in Scotland get free travel.
The only people paying are us poor workers have to pay. I pay £7.40 a day.
