If we go to heaven right when we die, then how will the Dead in Christ rise first, then the Living in Christ?
I thought you might find this inspiring or scary I'm not sure which?

Interesting video and a very short, but powerful message.
I know that the Bible talks that those who hear his voice will rise to eternal life, which to me, means a relationship with God. Take a look at the Gospel of John Chapter 5, verses 16-30.
I'm beginning to think this means that we go into the ground and then raise up from the dead at the appointed time.

We dont all go to heaven when we die, only a limited number do (Revelation 14:1) When we die we do as you say stay in the ground until we are resurrected (John 5:28,29) If we went to heaven when we die then there would be no point in the earthly resurrection. After Armageddon the earth is cleaned up and restored to how God intended it to be in the beginning before mankind messed it up. Then the righteous ones will be resurected onto the earth (Psalm 37:29) and will then be ruled over by the limited number that are in heaven. Jesus was speaking to this limited number when he said that he was preparing a place for them.
P.S. The rapture is NOT in the bible

The bible holds out two classes of people. One who will go to heaven and rein with Christ Revelation 20:6 They will be kings and priests and rule with Jesus Christ from the heavens.
There is another group of people Jesus said would live on the earth. The meek will inherit the earth
Who are they going to rein over if no one is on the earth?
there is just two many scriptures that say the earth will be here forever.
Psalms 37:29
Probably those who go to heaven will rise first. That only makes since, because they will be rulers over the earth.

The way I've read it and had it explained to me is when we die our souls do go straight to heaven, when He comes back for the ones still living we will join them in the air. Our new bodies, our resurrected bodies are what comes up, some people think we stay asleep until then but the bible teaches we go straight to heaven so I guess we will all reunite in the air during the Rapture. That's what most of the things I've read point to. A good place to read about it is 1st and 2nd Thessalonians.

You are speaking to two different events. One is you simply dying, and while there is nothing definitive there are a couple of trains of thought. First, death is often refered to as sleep in scripture. It can be because God has a different view of death than we do. We tend to view it as the end to everything, while He has always considered our time here on earth as a temporary stay.
But back to your question. If you simply die, or are killed then most scholars feel that you will end up either "sleeping", or go to a waiting place...one of torment if you had no relationship with God, and one of peace and rest if you did.
Regardless of which happens, when Christ comes again the the dead in Christ will rise first. Not just when you die. This is speaking of His return. Hope this helps.

According to the Bible we do not go to heaven instantly on death, but rather our spirit goes to paradise and our body to the grave.
Paradise is not heaven, it is God's Garden formerly in eden but later near Hades and finally in/near heaven by the time of the judgement.
Romans 8:10
But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Isaiah 26:19
But your dead will live; their bodies will rise. You who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.

15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Corinthians 15:43-45
43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"[a]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

"We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1st Thessalonians 4:14-17)
Look very carefully at the first part of that passage: "the Lord will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus." If the soul sleeps in the ground who are these that the Lord brings with Him at the rapture. The passage goes on to say "the dead in Christ shall rise first." When looked at in context with the first part of the verse, it os clear that the souls of believers return with the Lord at the rapture, and their bodies (the dead in Christ) are caught up in the air to be reunited with the soul/spirit.

actually the people that die without christ do go to hell,as you can see by the story told by jesus with the rich man and Lazurus, the rich man lifted up his eyes in hell. but when you die with christ you actually sleep like a hibernation, and you have to have the authentic holyghost to get you out the grave, like jesus had.thats why he was the first one to be ressurected in this manner. so almost right.ppl do go to hell but not to heaven until the rapture...

When we die our spirit goes directly to heaven, but the body stays in the ground. The spirit can't stay still in the body. I think it will seem like we're in heaven, like a real dream. Because I can't deny the fact that we go directly to heaven as soon as we die. There was a pastor who died, and went to heaven, but he ressucited to tell abt it. I don't know if I make mysel clear enough, but I'm in a rush now.

When you die your soul goes to Heaven, your Body is buried. At the 2nd coming the dead in Crist will rise first, meaning all that has died and soul has went to Heavens body will rise and be re-formed and re-melded with the soul. The body and soul will become 1 again.
