Great Faith. Great Doubt. Great Effort.
"Doubt can be a vital part of an honest and deeply felt faith. ... Without strong faith in buddha nature, Dogen could not develop great doubt about the need to strive for enlightenment. And without this nagging doubt, he would not have the determination to seek out teachers and meditation experiences that would move him past that doubt."
"We could say that doubt without faith is paralyzing and destructive, but faith without doubt may become static and self-satisfied. Strong faith and strong doubt react upon one another to produce a dynamic spiritual energy. We have to believe that the Buddha was telling the truth when he said that we all have the perfect buddha nature; and once we have that faith we will want to know: Why don't I see this clearly and experience the world in this way? Za-zen, not philosophy, is the Zen approach to such questions."

Suicide of faith? Faith doesnt really kill itself, but you could "lose" or destroy your faith. The end of faith only gives way to certain ways of thought. Faith, in itself, is a way of thought.
Yeah, you figure if God wanted us to just sit here and worship, he would have made us willing and able to do that!
Sucks that christians are so very judgemental and close-minded compaired to most other religions. We would be a lot happier if we could just get along.

God sees us all as beautiful.........He created us and loves us as we are. Its not solely whats on the outside that God sees.......He looks way deeper than that into our very souls ..........He knows our hearts, minds and souls and that to Him is what makes us beautiful. Its not what color our eyes are, its not what color our hair is, if we are thin or fat, its not about that at all.....its about loving us as His children and seeing something so much deeper in us and Jesus does that.......He sees what we could become and will become through Him........That is what makes us beautiful to Jesus...We are each as precious as jewels to Him .....We are His treasure here on earth.
Faith......how can you believe without faith........It doesnt take alot to believe in something that is right in front of you in plain sight, but to believe and have faith in the unseen that is true believing.......I cant see God in the flesh, but I can feel Him all around me and see him in things like the trees, sun, flowers, grass, sky, sunset, twinkling stars, the eyes of a child.......He is there and very real.....I have faith in my Lord and always will.
As far as thought.......God tells us " Lean not on our own understanding but to lean on Him in all things"...........Im glad because if i tried to rationalize everything of this world and why people did things or didnt do things I would go crazy.....instead I lean on God and his understanding. There are times I think people of this world would do better to pray more and think less.
God bless you.
