I know that the Catholic version of the Bible in America is the New American Version. I had one, but I've recently moved, and I cannot find mine. I've had a strong desire to sit and read an actual Bible lately, I've tried online, but that just begins to bother my eyes. I'm unable to find a job right now, or I'd buy one myself, and the urge to read the Bible is stronger than I can ever remember it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You should try visiting your local parish. If you explain your situation to a priest I'm sure he'll give you one for no charge. An alternative to this is visiting a Catholic organization or nun convent, wherever there are Catholic Christians that believe in charity and the word of God.

Matthew 21:12-13
12 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the benches of those selling doves.
13 It is written, he said to them, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers'.

quote them this. they should be giving bibles not selling them - and thats by the word of the bible. perhaps someone will finally get the hint to stop trying to make money off religion

Stealing is free, but would negate the contents of the bible...now wouldn't it? But hey, what do I know...all religions seem to pillage everything from each other anyhow...

There usually are several copies in any Cathedrial. They don't mind if you just take a copy.
