I am at college where I just took out a student loan in 2006-07. Do you think that it is too soon to start paying it back? If not where can I find student grants?

Most (if not all) student loans are set up to begin repayment shortly after graduation. If you have the money to pay it back now, I would put the money in a simple savings account to earn some interest. The student loan shouldn't start accruing interest until after the first payment. You'll make a little bit of $$ and still pay off your loan without interest expense.
