I agree with your statement. I think that everyone should have some special quiet time for themselves. I light incense and meditate and sometimes even do astral travel.

I highly recommend the book "Achieving Peace of Heart" by Fr. Narciso Irala.
It teaches you what true happiness is, how to find it with inner peace, and why it is harder to do this now in modern times.
It has truly changed the way I think, act, rest, and live.
I still have many problems that have to be solved before I find "that inner sanctum", but I now know the means needed for achieving peace of heart, as the book is titled.
I believe it is impossible to do this successfully without the aid of a theistic religion, - Christianity for me - and the book explains this in psychological terms very well.
True peace and happiness can only come from within, by uniting every one of our thoughts and actions with the Ultimate Purpose we are all called to live for.
I hope you find the peace of heart and mind that you desire.

In this crazy world....with all the insane crazy things flowing through my mind...Yeah, all I get is a headache. Instead of trying to find that inner peace/sanctum..I would rather deal with my problems and get them out of the way. Probably just in time to deal with the next, but hey..it keeps me busy!

I find my peace from the outside not the inside. I'm a human being and as such an emotional creature. All those emotions are constantly a part of us and hardly ever at rest. In such a flux I would find it hard to have inner peace.

The force is strong in this one. Yes. I agree with you. Everyone should look for inner peace. Too many search for it elsewhere but ultimately only you can find your own serenity.

in the world of today many people dont have time to go searching for a solitude/silent place within themseleves. perhaps people would be less stresed if they did. but everyoen has different ways of obtaining that calm state and releasing stress. perhaps thats only good for some people.

Yes, actually it is in more than one place too.
Sometimes I get it by taking a walk about 4:00 AM.
Other times, it is going to our bedroom, closing the door, and spending time in prayer.

Yes, I just don't go there enough. I found it or created it in a meditation class I took. I use it when I need to center.
I wouldn't describe it as my "happy place" but it IS a happy place!
