I heard of a diagram of the human body that tells how deep to stab a person and how long they willl live if stabbed there, I cant find it anywhere. Im in the military and I am trying to put together a detailed class on close combat, any help would do...

Try looking for some books on Roman fighting techniques - I can't remember the names or book titles. You can try books by ancient historians like Polybius, Livy, etc.

I once read somewhere that the Romans were taught that for a wound to be fatal (generally), a stab will have to be at 2 inches deep.
