Your family should be understanding enough if you want to visit a different church such as Baptist or Presbyterian.

There is more than boring wrong with it. Alot of the Catholic religion teaches faith in Jesus and the Mother Mary plus works. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me. Also, the Bible is clear that works are a sign of obedience not part of salvation.
The only thing that will save us from our sins is Jesus who died for us on the cross plus nothing else. We just have to believe it.

Find a church that preaches the Word of God. I am Baptist and have found that the Southern Baptist Church rightly divides the Word. However, many nondemonational churches do to.

It isn't so much about the religion as it is about what the Word of God says and what we do with Jesus Christ.

First, examine what the reasons are why you are turned off Catholicism.
Then have a home Bible study. Compare what the Bible teaches against what you already believe as a Catholic. What you'll find is a whole nother explanation of things from what Catholicism teaches. You'll come to know the true God, Jehovah, instead of worshipping Mary or saints. And you'll have a hope of a happy future in God's Kingdom, once it starts to rule over the earth, bringing eternal life and blessings to all those who love and obey Jehovah's laws. If you are offered a home Bible study, don't refuse it. Keep an open mind about what the bible really teaches.
John17:3 says: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the only true God and the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

Be Episcopalian, a.k.a Catholic Lite
Same Religion 1/2 the guilt

Just kidding

Seriously, you should be who God calls you to be, no more , no less, and the way to discern taht answer is through prayer.

Also, look into finding a spiritual director, and begin exploring other denominations as well as the foundations of your own beliefs.

You neeed to discover what you in your heart hold to be tru in your life not doctrine forced upon you.

i invite u to Islam. Research on ur own abt Islam. Read The Holy Quran, Read Books of Hadiths (Prophet's Sayings), Research by Authentic Reliable Books & Sites (Don't count on sites that defame Islam, 'coz they spread mis-information and misconceptions abt Islam, and they cant even back up there claims with sufficient proofs, thus they are basically rambling Falsehood abt Islam). Do all this research on ur own and dont believe in anyone's hearsay (Not even mine). May GOD (ALLAH) guide u on The Path of Seeking The Truth. Peace to All.

P.S. .......... Contact me through my id here, if u have any questions.

3 YEARS AGO I WAS LIVING AN EMPTY LIFE. FIERY, CONFUSION, AND HATE TOOK OVER MY HEART TO THE POINT WHERE I WANTED TO TAKE MY LIFE AWAY. I DIDN'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH GOD, THEN SUDDENTLY HE RESCUED ME AND SHOWED ME HIS HEALING POWER OF LOVE AND MERCY. I AM PROUD NOW TO SAY THAT I AM A CATHOLIC. BEFORE I DIDN'T KNOW A THING ABOUT THE CHURCH'S TEACHINGS AND ALL THE GIFTS THAT IT HAS TO OFFER TO US MISERRABLE SINNERS. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW, I WOULD HAVE NEVER DISOBEYED THE FATHER AND OTHERS LIKE I DID BACK THEN. ALL THIS TIME I SPENT 7 YEARS OF MY LIFE IN SEARCH FOR SOMETHING OR SOMEONE TO REST ON, NOT KNOWING THAT ALL ALONG IT WAS IN THIS CHURCH. TRUST ME I USED TO GO CLUBBING ALL THE TIME AND PARTY LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMORROW BUT ALL OF THAT LEFT ME WITH THE SAME NEGATIVE FEELINGS. SURE I CAN SAY THAT I HAD A GOOD TIME OUT THERE BUT IN THE END I WAS STILL THAT SAME BITTER PERON CONFUSED ABOUT THE TRUE MEANNING OF LIFE. TRY JOINING YOUTH GROUPS IF THERE ARE ANY AT YOUR PARISH. PLEASE LOOK INTO WHAT THE CHURCH HAS TO OFFER YOU BEFORE DECITING SOMETHING BIG LIKE LEAVING THE CHURCH. DON'T FORGET THAT THE CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN RELIGION WAS ESTABLISHED BY JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF 2000 YEARS AGO. MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT AGREE BUT IF YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH ON IT YOU'LL FIND OUT THAT IT IS TRUE BY STUDIYING THE "EARLY CHURCH FATHERS". MANY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD HAVE CONVERTED BY RECHERCHING WAY BACK TO THE TIME OF JESUS. YES THERE HAS BEEN SCANDLES BUT LET'S NOT BLAME THE CATHOLIC RELIGION, RATHER THE SINNER. THE CHURCH HAS GOTTEN VERY STRICK ON WHO TO ORDAINE IN THE PRIESTHOOD SINCE THEN. GOODLUCK AND MAY YOU SEEK THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR GUIDENCE.

--hi,
not unusual to question stuff at your age, it's a big world out there, lots to learn and lots to do. You're also at an age when you are most likely to be victimized by a cult leader or a "pop" religion" and if you say, it is not possible, I can tell you from experience that anything is possible. So, the Catholic Church scandal hit me in very personal ways that caused me to leave the church for a while, about 8 years ago, meanwhile, I am living my life the very best way I can, loving and respecting God and living up to my faith, without actually going to church. Once you are a catholic, in your heart you will always be one and that doesnt mean that you might not one day find another faith that you feel completes you as a child of Christ. And Christ is more concerned for you, and loves you more than you can understand. He is all forgiving if you have kept your faith to him and do you best to obey your parents and the commandents. Many of my friends
set their church aside during college and became a lot of things, or so they thought, including atheists, but some have returned to the fold with families to raise and burdens of parenting it takes
a special kind of faith to do it. A lot of them just feel closer to the religion of their family and want to come back and that is always an option for you too. Meanwhile I won't tell you that you are wrong or bad or that you will go to hell, I will say, stay true to what your parents taught and the commandments in whatever you do in life and you will always be on the right road and whatever life decides to burden
you with you will never be alone. I am one of those people that died in a hospital and they brought me back and it changed my life almost two years ago. though I am crippled up and suffered some brain damage, my faith and love for God ( all people and live things and beauty are all part of God)grows stonger every day. Don't be afraid and don't forget to say your prayers, and say one for me please. God Bless

Be open-minded and start exploring all religions and philosophies. It's a long journey that doesn't end. You'll know what is best for you when you find it. Also, at different times in your life different forms of spirituality will work for you. The one thing that seems universal for all religions and philosophies is to be kind to others.
Don't confuse religion with spirituality. Spirituality can and does exist without organized religion. Use organized religion as a jumping off point to discover what your spirit needs. There may be things from different religions that speak to your soul.

Be yourself, take a look objectively and make a decision based on facts ask yourself who really is doing the work of God in these last days? Which religion is following closely to Bible principles and then make your choice. Pray incessantly

I must tell you this...
It is not about religion, it is not about what church you attend, and what religious clubs you join. In the bible it says that even the people that attend church every
free time they have do not make it into heaven, some people go because they made friends there and use it as a social event, some people go because its tradition in there family, others go because they feel they have no choice.

It is about the personal relationship you have built with our Lord and Savior; stay connected to him. Find a bible or a book about the stories in the bible to keep your mind concentrated on God.
Pray to God deeply ask him to guide through your every days step ask him into your heart and surrender your body, mind, and spirit. And yes, find a church to attend and use the church as a class to learn about bible find youth groups make friends like that when times get hard you can have people who will incurage you to keep moving on and to help you stay connected to God he is the important one ONLY GOD and he PROMISES to get you through any hard time in your life if you only have faith and truly ask him into your heart.
