I live in the border, years ago, I would buy everything in the USA. I would eat out over there, buy my groceries, and clothes. As custom agents began acting like assholes, I slowly stopped going, and eventually got to a to this point, it's September, and I've only been twice, even though I live about 5 blocks from the border. I decided I don't need to spend my money where I get such a crappy welcome. The only times I even went there was just to go to the airport to travel to Europe. Custom agents in Eruope welcome you, act politely, they don't treat you like a suspect for a crime. I've been to Israel, they are at war, and the customs agents are nice, even the custom agents from Egypt when I come from Israel are nice. I cancelled my timeshares in Orlando and at South Padre Island. I just don't need to spend my money where I'll be treated badly.
Why can't American custom agents learn from other countries?

I used to have most of my life savings over there, I used to simply cross the bridge, deposit, and come back. It came just a big deal just saying you were going to deposit money, before I knew it, I had all my money in Mexico. A lot of people I know stopped saving in the USA because the trouble just to cross the bridge for something as simple as depositing money was just not worth it.
