I was just wondering if there were any new types of flooring out there other than carpet or linoleum, that would work well in a dining area with chairs that have casters. Our carpet is getting bad and I would need something that doesn't make a lot of noise and wouldn't get damaged from the casters.

Tile would look pretty good. There are many types out and you can actually do it yourself. I am sick of linoleum too.
