Why few find the narrow way

Because most people want to follow some person, or belong to some group. They feel a need to "belong".
Very few people are actually following Christ.
People tend to feel more at ease, if they are a part of a group. But being a Christian has nothing to do with being at ease, and everything to do with striking out on your own. I guess we can safely say that, according to Jesus, if you are following a crowd, you are definitely going the wrong way.

Few find the "narrow way" because we currently live in a world ruled by Satan. To find and follow the "narrow way", we must overcome the influence of this wicked system, our own imperfect flesh, and direct temptations from the Devil. Most people in this world couldn't be bothered. Many in western civilizations don't even believe in God to begin with...

As you approach the river fork. The tide is pulling you in trying to take you into the darkness. But the Lord provides you an escape before you even get to the tide. Some may think that it is the best to go with the tide because everyone else is doing it. But you realize that the tide leads straight into an waterfall. If you were to go into the tide, you would surely be led to destruction. But God in the beginning gave you the choice to go with the tide, or escape from it.

This is much like life.

We are given two choices.
Follow the World, or Follow after God

If we follow the ways of this world, we will be surely led to destruction. But if we follow after God, we will serve HIS purpose.

The Lord has given us the power over sin. We have a choice. We can follow the ways of this world, OR we can do choose to have power of sin and deny the world of its fervor and follow after the Lord our God.

The narrow way (seek) has a cost to it that apparently some choose not to pay. Seek Luke 12:31, Matt. 7:7.

Good question:
Jesus said:
" Wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are MANY that enter therein"..

So I guess that leaves FEW that find the straight and narrow way.

The road is narrow, the horizon wide, and they say what's waiting on the other side is so rewarding and the ultimate prize, but what good is something if you can't have it until you die?

Because they have not searched diligently for it.

Because they don't want to follow that way.

Because its easier to follow the crowd.

Because someone said it was better another way (even though those on it don't think it is the broad and spacious road)

Different reasons for different people I think.

Only a few found it during the days of Noah. (Only 8 survived)

Because you think you know the truth and that your truth is the only way things can be. I'll never go to your church and still be content with my life...Being content is the narrow way.
